I have no idea why this is still a thing other than to waste players time.
It's not even like Exotics get a bigger stat boost from masterworked or even additional effects or energy. Lower the cost or make it worth the cost please.

Know what I hardly even noticed I was was spending 3 ascendant shards everytime, untill I got rain of fire the other day I’m down to my last 5 shards. And I see it was 3 to masterwork!! So I left it at energy 9

Edited by iKARUS: 2/14/2024 8:45:12 PMI've ran legend sectors for that aspect alone. Especially on the shorter circuit sectors. Find the proper load out get your momentum right. And you'll be sitting on 15-30 shards ez in 1 r 2 hours to merge into balls later. Having m8s makes it all the easier. But I solo often. (I do agree the benefit doesn't equate but it is what it is)

Both for your point and against it. For: newer players will definitely have a harder time getting golf balls needed to max out exotic armor especially with legendary shards being removed. Against: For those able to complete higher level night falls in a moderate amount of time, golf balls will be easy to get especially if you breakdown only maxed out armor.

Edited by The Hermit IX: 2/14/2024 3:34:59 PMIt’s not difficult to get golf balls. You can even buy them from Rahool. Season pass and vendor rank resets. Coil. Fishing. End game activities. I use mine all the time and when I need them it’s easy to farm them.

Shards are not an issue to acquire. I have over 100 exotics masterworked in my vault because my postmaster was always full of shards.

Run coil and get a 130,000 score or greater. It rains shards, prisms, alloys, & cores in that activity. I generally focus 15+ exotics a week which mind you is 30 shards, all via the coil.

I'd also think it would be nice if you'd get back all the materials you put into masterworking gear when you dismantle it. It sucks to have a piece of masterworked armor and then have another one drop with better stats and then have to waste even more mats to mw it.

Still sitting on 30 golf balls. The game is too generous with exotic shards if you play endgame or even pull from the season pass. Delete your trash. You don't need 5 of the same exotic armor piece.

When you're running a Triple 100 build with a Masterworked exotic. It makes a difference !🤣 Shards and Alloys are everywhere at the moment. It's never been easier.

I did it once, rolled a discipline piece (can't remember which) & it dropped a 62 roll & 11 discipline, never again.

Exotics aren't really exotics anymore. The amount of buffs or synergy it provides these days thanks to bungie nerf and awesome sandbox adjustment that they can't properly separate pvp and pve, they are just as good if not worse than legendary gear lol. To me it just feels like extra crap to make players grind for to just vault lol

It exists to give you something to grind for. - I don't agree nor disagree with its implementation; but they've made it increasingly easy to get golf balls now.
