$12 EMOTE???? $8 for ONE weapon skin. Eververse items are to expensive!

Im loving all the changes they have made to the game...Except the prices in the eververse they are just to high. $12 bucks for ONE emote and weapon skins at $8 for ONE weapon skin is ridiculous. Just lower them a few dollars so it feels like a good deal and not a rip-off.

  • i don't understand why ppl here are upset, the emote and the weapon skin do absolutely nothing for your game/skills, it's purely cosmetic. I could understand if the weapon skin gave some kind of advantage to you but... it doesn't. Basically you're here because in your opinion you can't afford it and the problem isn't Bungie, it's You. It's like, walking by a jewelry store and out of the corner of your eye you catch how EXPENCIVE a Rolex is... YOU want it but You KNOW you shouldn't... because it tells time exactly the same as a …$ watch and you kick yourself in the nuds because, damn it WHY Why can't I afford it and you storm into the store and start raising the roof how they need to lower the price... sound familiar ? I know, I know what you're thinking... You're thinking how this isn't real life and this is just a game but let me stop you right there... that's exactly it, to Bungie this is real life. Oh ya, oh ya... well they should just focus on other things than... aa a aaa, the people that work on things like emotes and skins are there to do just that, for you to suggest that they should go do something they have no experience in is, well... uneducated.

Did you know eververse is purely cosmetic? You can play every inch of the game without buying silver. Or, conversely, you can complain on the forums. Your call chief. Edit: grammar

They should definitely sell level 25 characters for $29.99 again. I think at least they came with 2 free emotes.

              • I had an issue with this when I was being charges $60 for a new game... but Destiny is now free to play - you really should be finding ways to support the developer if you are not intent on dropping anything for a season pass or an expansion... I have zero issue with eververse and the costs in a free-to-play scenario...

                • The way I go into this is this, and I hope this is helpful to someone. Imagine first you are back (or still in high school) and you are going to try out for the football team. Of course there are the items you need to buy into the sport (though this may be covered by some schools depending on area): Pads, cleats, helmet, uniform, and mouthguard. These are probably equal to a console or low-end PC, or maybe better depending on how much you choose to spend. Then you have the cosmetic items. You could buy some bland workout clothes and a $5 watch from Walmart for about the same cost as shadowkeep. or... You could by a ton of really expensive things if you want. Most people aren’t really going to care aside from you, so you can choose whatever you want. These are your eververse purchases. Even in a simple sport like track, a good set of running shoes and competition spikes will probably only set you back about $120, but you could get the really nice looking ones for $300. People have different thresholds for what they’re going to spend their money on. Bungie, despite evidence to the contrary, is a smart company. A company that deals with this many assets can afford to hire an economist to run a baseline analysis of their monetization. Just because you and me aren’t willing to shell out $12 for a stupid dance move doesn’t mean that it isn’t the most profitable range. Think about all the 12 year olds that play these games whose only limit to their spendable income is their parents’ sanity. $12 isn’t that much in the grand scheme of things. Economists can get things wrong, but I generally believe in people to make the safe decision when money’s on the line. TLDR: Yeah, it’s expensive, annoying, and frustrating, but it’s probably the most economical outcome for Bungie. Don’t expect it to change. Instead of complaining about it, you should talk with Bungie about increasing our game rewards with a vendor reset as much of the discontentment I’m seeing is due to a lack of chase-worthy rewards in the game since we haven’t had a vendor reset in a year.

I can count on one hand how many times I've stopped to admire someone else's armor look, and that's since playing D1. They're cosmetics and they only really matter to YOU, because if you're playing with or around other Guardians, they're going to be too busy doing their own crap to care about what your guardian looks like. While I agree that the actual cost for silver is stupid, because no one item or cosmetic should cost this much, it's also actually a really inane thing. You care what your guardian looks like, no-one else does. It's the same with the guns! Get a new ornament for your exotic that changes how it looks? Great! No-one is going to stop mid-fight to admire it.

                  • Dont buy them. If they dont sell, they will lower the price. If they do sell, they will probably keep them as is. New light probably allows them to keep prices higher since people can play for free.

                    • The game is almost completely free. Ever verse items don't affect the gameplay. Cut the s**t you entitled brat. They are premium items and there is no universal law that states how much or how fairly priced things should be. They exist at these price points because there are people willing to pay the price for them.

                      • I’m not going to apologize for the prices of items. But I see a lot of complaints about eververse existing at all. Today’s game development costs go way beyond the $60 price tag that games come with. People say that if all the stuff was included in game instead of through microtransactions, they would be willing to pay $120. They are delusional. Nobody would actually be willing to pay for a game where the full development cost was included in the actual cost. They turn a loss of fortune into a profit by selling the game to us in pieces. This also allows a stagnated release to keep players playing for a longer period of time by not giving them all the content at once. I don’t agree with the prices, but everything is ornamental, and as such is a necessary evil for the increasing inflation in game developement costs.
