Using them in PvE is so underwhelming, expecially into Activities where enemies are more resilient.
Even with Perks like Rampage or Kill Clip and a Minor Spec Mod it takes so long to kill Red Bar minions. Orange and Yellow Bar enemies requires magazines on magazines to get killed. I think that the only Auto Rifle that Is worthy to use right now is the Breakneck with a Rampage Mod from Ada-1.
There are so many cool Scout Rifles in the game right now (Oxygen SR3 first!) taking dust into the Vaults 'cos there is absolutely no reason to use them.
Hope to see a good Buff for them with Shadowkeep.

Yes def need a big pve buff!!! They need to be careful about buffing in pvp tho. Although they are rarely used, some of the autos and scouts are actually really good already in pvp in the hands of the right user.
-
Yeah and Trump needs to be impeached. Both won’t happen
-
Auto rifles are "beginner" weapons. Low skill floor and low skill ceiling. If you want to mindlessly spray bullets, great, but they should never be anywhere near top-tier. A scout rifle buff would be nice. Precision shooting should be rewarded.
-
HCs need to be dropped pretty hard. Why use a scout when an HC has the same range, more damage, better perks, more adaptable
-
PvE and PvP buff... When was the last time you saw either on more than one player.
-
Let's wait til next week.
-
TWAB mentioned that gun changes are going to be covered in next weeks TWAB. We already know that some type of Scout buff is coming. I'm guessing that we'll see more of it in a week. Almost there!
-
No they don’t. Been playing scouts and autos since the Beta. If anything, titans need to be nerfed and heavy machines guns need to be buffed.
-
What’s an Auto rifle ? An SMG which sacrifice damage for longer range ? A Pulse rifle which sacrifice range for rate of fire ? It’s in such a niche that it’s hard to buff it without breaking the balance and making another weapon looks obsolete. What’s a Scout rifle ? A sniper which sacrifice damage for more bullets ? A Pulse rifle which sacrifice rate of fire to get a sniper feeling ? It’s in such a niche that it’s hard to buff it without breaking the balance and making another weapon looks obsolete. I think that to buff Auto rifle and Scout rifle you would first need to make Pulse rifle into something else.

They don’t care. They can’t sell important game updates, can they? They are too busy re-skinning trash at eververse in order to extract even more cash from you unethically.

Edited by Zombie: 9/4/2019 7:47:48 AMI use Garden Progeny 1 and can one shot unshielded vandals, dregs, thralls, and harpies (when I get the crit shot, otherwise it's a two shot). I also use the Polaris Lance, especially on missions where solar burn is enabled. I don't find either underwhelming at all. Edit: I forgot, Garden Progeny 1 one shots acolytes, goblins, and hobgoblins, too.
-
Snipers are offensively weak against shields. Just thought I'd add that to the dog pile. Watch these idiots nerf pulse rifles. Pulse rifles, and hand cannons, are just fine the way they are.
-
They already confirmed this?
-
We heard your feedback and we're buffing the damage on auto rifles by 0.0002% and decreased the range by 12% We are also buffing scouts by 0.0003% and reduced reload speed by 75% We also increased Shotgun range in PVP by 65.3% because we felt Shotgun could do with some love.
-
Got it, 0.06% buff for autos coming in ttk- I mean shadowkeep -bungo, probably
is only joke pls don't hurt me
-
I went back and played D1 a couple nights ago (just some patrols and strikes for nostalgia) and brought out The Wounded FWC scout rifle with outlaw and firefly. It felt so crisp! It felt totally relevant and powerful. We need scouts like those again!
-
Ive been using a GRH (CoS auto rifle) with multi kill clip, zen moment, and high caliber rounds and i love it. Kill a few red bars then reload and lay one mag into a orange bar. Also been running calusea noblesse (CoS scout rifle) with dragon fly, substance, and high caliber rounds.
-
Definitely! Scouts are so disappointing, it takes a whole clip to kill a thrall (yes I exaggerated but scouts do feel weak)
-
Primaries are called "small arms" for a reason. Good for smaller enemies but not for larger ones. Scouts do need tuning though since they fit in the medium to long range category.
-
Scout rifles, absolutely yes. They just don't seem to feel IMPACT. Both in damage and senses like they did in D1. Autos? Not as much, but sure. Autos like Horror Story and Ghost Primus are still pretty damn good and I don't care what anyone else's opinion of them is. I think most of us can agree Bungie needs to stop putting all their eggs in the hand cannon basket and make other weapon types more than just a smidge more powerful.
-
just use a recluse. the guns are cool but i don't think it's gonna happen besides a scout rifle buff
-
Scouts need only rpm buff. This will place them in good space between snipers and bows.
-
And PvP

Edited by SilentFight2411: 9/4/2019 6:26:44 PMIn my opinion Scouts have always needed some kind of help in this game. There have only been 1 or 2 that have had time to shine. I miss the days of Destiny when I ran my Scout, Shotgun, HMG build. Now it depends on what I'm doing but I mostly run Pulse, Shotgun, HMG.
-
Having to put my age old bond away because auto rifles suck made me sad. Same when I got the CoS auto. Like, that's raid gear from two different raids that aren't useful at all unless you're trying to burn match for strikes (and only strikes, because other events have too much umph on adds)
-
>only worth using Breakneck Uhh. Yeah that weapon is mediocre at best. Try a god rolled Ringing Nail, also Ros Lysis is good in Crucible. They need a buff yes, but Breakneck is totally not that good. Major downside it being kinetic and unable to use onslaught to chew through shields.
