Solstice Trials: Have You Learned Your Lesson Yet, Bungie?
So, how's everybody holding up in Tryhards, against Sir Sweatsalot and the Basement Brigade?

Yep, just as I thought.
I predicted this a couple week's ago, ever since you announced trials wins as part of Solstice armor. You wanted to revive the most toxic and undeserving playlist, so you made it a requirement for Solstice of Heroes.
Now look at what you have wrought. Damn near every post on the main page right now is lashing out at you because of Trials. And this is completely your fault.
Do you actually care? ARE you actually listening?
Because all I see is you guys spitting in your fans' faces, by making everybody who just wanted to complete an armor set step into a Playlist that you yourselves stated was not meant to be for everybody. You made a wise move, making MMXX only require 28/30 for the title; so what went wrong, between here and there?
The answer: you stopped caring. You stopped listening. You just want to TELL us what's best for the game and for us, rather than actually listen. And now, you have a whole swarm of complaints that you're trying your best to ignore. I'm willing to bet you won't even deign to respond here, let alone to any of the other innumerable posts speaking out against your failed Trials promotion. You dont want to listen, you just want to keep force-feeding bullshyt down our throats, and cater to your streamers. You don't give a damn about your playerbase!

At least it's on the feet. Nobody is looking at my female guardians feet anyway. I won't partake in trials because of multiple reasons. I'm old and my twitch reflexes are toast. Trials doesn't interest me because I originally bought D1 and subsequently D2 to go shoot aliens with friends in a nice environment/skybox. If I wanted to play a real multiplayer fps this most certainly isn't it. Other studios do a much nicer job at it and make it a priority usually with a somewhat enjoyable but short story. I don't mind the occasional pvp that I don't take seriously, but I'm not even going near trials to inflate player pools. That is my personal no to having a step in any quest or bounty include pvp endgame. I love pve, but I also believe in not having raid completions take part in bounties or questlines as well. It feels very "we already have this, let's make them do this". It just seems lazy. Granted there are raid exotics and I'm not referring to them. Quests like ace of spades, thorn even the bad juju quest was nice. Shattered throne even just to get the bow. But making players do very specific endgame activities for cosmetic stuff is a slap in the face. Let's just remember it's not a weapon or gear we are chasing here, it's COSMETIC. It's not gonna sit right with people.

I enjoy PVP.....Unbroken and all that stuff...........but Trials wins was a bad idea. If you don't like PVP you are nothing but trials cannon fodder. Not a good way to make two communities one.

3 RepliesCold truth: Its absolutely not a problem. The only ones struggling are complaining more then trying to do it, 7 wins across an infinite number of cards isn't asking too much, the entitlement and participation trophy mindset are the real problem here.

after like 15 rounds of getting pupstomped like crazy (and i aint even that bad) but every round getting corner peek sniped, or straight up rush shotgun melee, arbalested in the face, and all that. i had 1 win. trails is baddd.

Your displeasure is felt by many. Bungie has 3 weeks as per tomorrow’s reset to fix things. If they don’t, just another reason to not purchase Beyond Light in November.

4 RepliesWait.... You think people camping with autos, GLs, fusions, hard scoped revokers that miss shots, pulses, bows, etc are sweats? Double check the rules my man. None of that flamboyant stuff is in there. Trials died on arrival solely due to lack of incentive, meta, people finding out they couldn't cut it, and hackers. Now.... I agree trials or comp wins should [b][u]not[/u][/b] be a requirement for solstice armor. That's kind of silly. The armor rolls with booty stats, it's a grind any way you slice it and sunset happens soon anyway so why even do it? Think about last year's solstice armor. How often do you use it? How much of a grind was it to get 3 characters to a full set? Was it worth the time investment? TL:DR The way I see it. The complaint isn't about trials.... It's about time invested vs bungies ability to come up with a quest line vs the reward itself vs lurking reality that nothing matters now with sunsetting.

Well debatable but they definitely arent listening to people on here who complain about the dumbest things 24/7. And for some reason the people on here wonder why bungie doesnt talk here anymore

I was never going to do Trials for the glow, but after getting the arms and cloak done, I don't even want to do the PvE stuff. The elemental glow looks much better to me.

That's all anybody cares about anymore is these lazy no life streamers and in my opinion it shouldn't even be something people get paid for. Bungie needs to do a lot to this game or it's going to die again. And I'm predicting it will be shortly after beyond light when everybody sees our re skinned armor, weapons and enemies. Bungie hasn't had creativity since D1

1 ReplyI have never felt more frustrated playing this game. I can understand the need to include pvp requirements in event objectives. I enjoy some light crucible play, although I’m not very good. But the 7 win trials requirement is just ridiculous and frustrating for people like me who are not geared for and not skilled in pvp.

Evilman520 you make some valid points and I agree that ever verse should be removed from this game. But Whether we wanted it or not, we’ve stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let’s get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta’aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

Getting 7 wins isn't hard. Just reset your card after the first win everytime. Also, completing the armor all the way is trash. All you do is glow white.....the armor has shit rolls

11 RepliesYou want to be proved wrong? I did it. I have a 0.89KD, My friends I ran with have a 0.17, and 0.9. We are nowhere NEAR being crucible gods. But we did it. In 1 weekend, we did it. Matter of fact, it was 2 days we did it in. Friday night, and Monday night (as of typing, I just finished playing.) Was it pretty rough? Yeah. But it's like literally any other task in this game. Time consuming. Some people are going to get it done sooner than others, some people are going to take a week or two. But just like anything else in this game, it's a grind. It's not going to be handed to you, and now me, someone who isn't even a PvE player, is going to go back to farming everything else I need for it. Why? Because I want the ornament. I play this game on the side, I probably play <10 hours a week. A little more if I have the time, or I'm extra bored. It's a game meant to be enjoyed in all aspects, if you don't want to do trials, don't do it and miss out on the legs. Quit crying over a -blam!-ing video game and either do it, or don't and miss out. You're literally being children and crying over this. "Boohoo game company want me to do thing in game for item, let me have item handed to me ezpz or i'm never playing again1!1!1!" jesus -blam!-ing christ I never -blam!-ing realized how much of -blam!-ing sissies this community is until this event happened. It's like any other game with questlines, sometimes you're going to have to go out of your way and do things you don't want to do. But if you care about the reward enough, you're going to do it, if not, then you're going to move on and do something else on the game. And that's why Bungie won't change anything, because it's an optional quest, for a COSMETIC item. It's not game changing, it's not the most broken weapon to come out and if you don't get it you're at a huge disadvantage in game. It's a cosmetic.
