I did it.
I have a 0.89KD, My friends I ran with have a 0.17, and 0.9.
We are nowhere NEAR being crucible gods. But we did it.
In 1 weekend, we did it. Matter of fact, it was 2 days we did it in. Friday night, and Monday night (as of typing, I just finished playing.)
Was it pretty rough? Yeah.
But it's like literally any other task in this game. Time consuming. Some people are going to get it done sooner than others, some people are going to take a week or two. But just like anything else in this game, it's a grind. It's not going to be handed to you, and now me, someone who isn't even a PvE player, is going to go back to farming everything else I need for it. Why? Because I want the ornament. I play this game on the side, I probably play <10 hours a week. A little more if I have the time, or I'm extra bored.
It's a game meant to be enjoyed in all aspects, if you don't want to do trials, don't do it and miss out on the legs. Quit crying over a -blam!-ing video game and either do it, or don't and miss out.
You're literally being children and crying over this. "Boohoo game company want me to do thing in game for item, let me have item handed to me ezpz or i'm never playing again1!1!1!" jesus -blam!-ing christ I never -blam!-ing realized how much of -blam!-ing sissies this community is until this event happened.
It's like any other game with questlines, sometimes you're going to have to go out of your way and do things you don't want to do. But if you care about the reward enough, you're going to do it, if not, then you're going to move on and do something else on the game. And that's why Bungie won't change anything, because it's an optional quest, for a COSMETIC item. It's not game changing, it's not the most broken weapon to come out and if you don't get it you're at a huge disadvantage in game. It's a cosmetic.

winning 7 games in trials has the same "dificulty settings" as drinking a liter of piss. its not really hard, you need to space it out, practice a bit, take small sips, and keep it together and eventually you will arrive there.. is this really what a game should try to deliver?

The main point is just every game is going to make you do something that makes you get out of your comfort zone, and if the reward is worth it to you, you're going to do it. If it's something you're fine with missing such as this cosmetic item, then just skip it.

Everyone is complaining because they aren't PvP players and it's "too hard". Yet PvP players need to do the same thing for PvE to acquire the same thing, no?

i was and i am still an avid defender of the "either or" principle.. no pvp player should be forced into a raid and no pve player into a pvp activity to get a pinnacle or reward in general unless its really specific like the old adept trials weapons of d1,

The PvE version of trials wins is completing a raid/hard dungeon without dying. To make it more realistic, add an occasional invincible enemy with dead shot accuracy and can shoot through walls. Point is, there are NUMEROUS other pvp options that could have been done, but they insist on the worst gametype in the game.

But trying for 7 wins isn't even hard. I'm not even good and I managed to do it with my teammates. One of which has a 0.23 KD, it's just trial and error. We did it in 2 play sessions over the weekend and we're done with the step now. Was it rough? Yes. But so is any piece of endgame content if you're running with players who aren't too good at the game.

Sure, let me just find 2 randoms and deal with their bs. Then lose my faith in the game design more. Not to mention all the unnecessary stress. I would rather spend my time watching paint dry. At least then I can come out with a good feeling and productivity.

Yes, all aspects. Where is the raid requirement? Grandmaster? How about some EP? Maybe some lost sectors? Wait, none of those are in there? Gasp, well look at all those equally challenging (minus LS, except maybe the upgraded ones) things they could do instead. What, you wanted pvp? Well there is a thing called ranked playlist that could be used instead, and a thing called "completions." I chose to not play/bother because it's a pos sham that is directed ultimately at nEV. I'm not adding to their numbers, not participating, and not bothering. Not just because of one step, although that did seal it, but the way it is built. You have buds to do it with, cool, some of us don't. You have the time to waste, cool, a lot of us don't. You want to waste time on a set you will never use, and ornaments you will replace, cool, there are far better options available. Tldr: your strawman "play all or don't complain" bs argument is idiotic, and not all of us are willing to waste time/effort on a sham when there are better options available.

Well done. Only thing I have seen said that makes sense. I’m waying up if 10 gambit matches or eaz is worth my time. But it’s my time my choice.
