Ok I do agree that it is wrong but you are interpreting the words of the conduct wrong, it is not modifying it is terminating a connection, terminating a connection is not against the code, modifying is trying to change a specific section of the server or coding area to benefit yourself. Or something else as changing the server address to another server to benefit yourself for a 'head start' which can sync with the companies server.
Modifying and terminating have very different meanings.

I see your point. However. Even disconnecting on purpose becomes a "disruption to the network" when it directly and purposly effects the gameplay of others to gain an "unfair advantage in the game".
-
How do they have an unfair advantage over other players? Oh you must play pvp. There is no unfair advantage in pve. Actually none of the weapons Crota drops are better than what the crucible already has.
-
I dont play pvp. And you may be misunderstanding what unfair advantage means in a legal document. It means that you have a way of doing something that is not how it was intended and is done on purpose to bug the event. Atheon was different only because it did not involve the network.
-
You misunderstand too then. Maybe it's just because some people are doing this wrong though as pointed out by some other kid in this thread. All you have to do is change characters. That is not network manipulation. EVERYONE PULLING THEIR NETWORK CORDS IS DOING THIS WRONG. Just hover over change character and hit it when he starts to kneel and rejoin the fight.
-
Calm down bro. I already said I dont care if you do it. I just said pulling the network cord is the bad thing here.
-
Nah not mad. Caps is so people will see it. No need to be jacking with cords lol.
-
Haha okay my bad
-
I use to think the same as you but then I learnt the difference ( I agree a purpose disconnection should result under their COC) but sadly they can't as it is almost impossible to distinguish a purposeful disconnection and a lost connection as they are the same command structure, this would also give an unfair ground for others to stand on if it ever happened to them.
-
Okay I see your point. But suspicion does arise when it happens over and over at Crota. Which can be seen by Bungie because of the server loggs.
-
Yeah that is 100% true but they aren't gonna go through everyone's accounts just to ban them, if it was on the hard raid they might do it but ye easy raid is out earlier to find all these bugs and stuff before the good stuff comes out.
-
It is not a disruption to the network it is a termination of a link to the network, a disruption is something like a lag switch or even dossing (yes people have gone that far for a game (kinda sad))modifying is going into the server and changing setting or commanding the server to gain an advantage, I do understand what you are saying and I do agree it's just that an intentional termination to the network is not one of their policies.
-
I appreciate your levelheaded and intelligent conversation by the way. No sarcasm
-
Haha thanks
