Blah blah blah... It's the same levels over and over dude. I guess if you wanna throw your life away.

I hate to break it to you. Video games don't accomplish anything. Ever. It is literally something we do to pass time for the sake of passing time. As is all entertainment. So there's no need to be rude and imply liking one game is wasting your life and liking another isn't.

I have a video clip of me banging your mom and dead grandmom. Is that time wasted?

It's a profession now actually. You can get collage scholarships on some games. It's only gonna continue to grow in popularity. Unless the developers screw it up by pulling another Atari E.T. which seems to be the direction the industry is headed. At least on consoles.

I totally agree with your point on the industry. And I know it's becoming a profession. That doesn't mean doing it accomplishes anything more than entertainment. And please don't get me wrong, I love video games and entertainment as much as the next person. Its just that for the %99 of gamers who won't end up on the pro circuit, gaming is something you do as a break from accomplishment. I don't know. Thanks for your reply though.

While I agree with you. Majority of people will never make pro. The industry doesn't continue to grow without the masses aspiring to do so. If everyone thought like you and I, I truly believe gaming would die off. So I encourage it, so that I might reap the benefits of playing increasingly better games. But developers are stuck in this comfort zone of smacking a money piñata and the industry is growing stagnant especially in the console world. I don't think a single AAA game lived up to its name this year.

The industry today does seem to be mirroring that of the 80s more and more. I wonder what the next E.T. Is going to be? Kickass response by the way. Great points.

Some people play games because it helps them, they are good for things other than entertainment too. Multiple things...

I know they have use in things like rehabilitation, but it's a small sliver of the gamers out there that are doing it out of some prescribed therapy. I understand what you're saying though and you make a great point.
