Yes it is, did you even take high school stats
-
The odds are the same every week.
-
You don't seem to understand that even with an RNG, the odds of the same number being picked 4 times in a row is astronomical.
-
No! The odds are 1/6 every week. That's it, you can't just raise 1/6 by a power of 4 and expect any logical information from that.
-
Edited by Cloud Royal: 11/29/2014 1:36:58 AMHe's clearly mentioned the odds of getting it 4 weeks in a row not just a weekly basis. Flip a quarter 4 times and it's a 1/16 chance to land on tails all 4 times.
-
Yes, he did and he's wrong.
-
So your saying it's a 1/6 chance for him to sell that item 4 weeks in a row? That's the same as saying you have a 50% chance to land tails 4 times in a row. Your math is incorrect
-
What I'm saying is that each time you have a 50% chance. You can not say that the odds of getting heads twice in a row are (1/2)^2 because that's not true. They are independent of each other.
-
That is how probability works. Have you never taken a class on it?
-
You're a little late to the party.
-
I'm just trying to correct you before you go off teaching people he wrong way to do probability
-
I'm just trying to correct you before you go off teaching people he wrong way to do probability
But yes I'll remember not to "go off teaching people he wrong way..."
-
Your not important enough for me to care about going back to add a "T" the keyboard on a iphone is kinda small
-
Not getting into this with you.
-
Flip a coin twice. Yes they are independent events and both have a 50% to come out as heads but since their are 4 possible outcomes of happening (tails-tails,tails-heads,heads-tails,heads-heads) that makes it 1/4 chance of both being heads. Same rule applies to xur if every item has a equal chance. Next week Friday there is a 1/6 chance he will have void bang vestment but for him to have it 5 times in a row that chance is extremely unlikely but it's already happened 4 times so we will see
-
I didn't say to raise it by a power of four? I want you to open up a RNG program do the numbers 1-6 with repetition possible and do it until you get 1 1 1 1 Then tell me it's 1/6 chance
-
Edited by CrazyLincoln: 11/29/2014 1:39:43 AMDid you read the guy's post or did you never learn to?
-
...he's saying it's .07% chance to get it 4 times in a row. You're right that there's a 1/6 chance to get it per week or whatever. The thing is that twice in a row for 1/6 odds is small, and even more so for thrice or four times.
-
Yes, and he's wrong because that's not how statistics work. You have a 1/6 chance every week. That is true every week and each week is not influenced by the last. You can't just raise 1/6 by a power of 4 and conclude something impossible.
-
You're retarded. You seriously have a mental deficiency. I NEVER SAID TO RAISE IT BY A POWER OF FOUR, FOR THE SECOND TIME, YOU DUMB SHIT. Yes, each week is not influenced by the previous. YOU FAIL TO REALISE THAT THE ODDS OF GETTING THE SAME THING SO MANY TIMES IN A ROW IS STATISTICALLY TINY. That is how stats work. For a RNG, it has an increasingly smaller percentage of getting the same number in a row. That's how it works.
-
Haha awesome reaction. Just give up man this guy is not getting it..
-
So if you would claim down and read his post, he takes 1/6 to a power of 4. Maybe you don't know how exponents work? Maybe you can't read?
-
Edited by CrazyLincoln: 11/29/2014 1:14:49 AMYes, I did. That is completely false.
