In game lore fact: Your character died before the Traveler Discovery.
I have played through the (lack of) story three times now and not a single time did it imply (nor did I infer from what I was told) that any of my guardians died in the Golden Age. Consider what we were told, however: The Golden Age lasted centuries and it's been centuries since the Collapse. Do you really believe you've been lying there, a preserved corpse, for a couple hundred years?
No, it's far more likely that we are little more than constantly reanimated puppets of the Traveler.
The issue with the Queen is just a prime example of a failure to pay attention to detail. While the art team did a fantastic job of paying attention to the small details of the world, the story telling team most certainly DID NOT. No snide comment by the Queen or her Brother about Earthborn Awoken. No real backstory about how the former colonists went through biological evolution to become these altered humans. No story about the Exos, not to mention the fact that they have the "human build" as everyone else AND why the hell do robots need to wear helmets? Edit: And while I'm on a details rant, the game starts "present day" and then we're led to believe we ushered in a new golden age... then how come the Cosmodrome looks like the Soviet Space Program of the 1960s, and Freehold Station on Mars looks like a Greyhound Station from 1955? Moving forward in reverse?
What breaks the "lore" of the game is the fact that they didn't flesh it out well and they failed to pay attention to the details - small AND large - that matter in the grand scheme of things.
