If you read the reddit AMA with the ex bungie rep he states that each class and race had a different starting mission, but they scrapped all of them(along with the entire story) but the Exo one to save money. So if you think about it you were an Exo that was damaged and your ghost finds you amongst a pile of rubble, brings you back to life and repairs you so you may become a guardian. Apparently there was one for the awoken that starts in the reef and one for the humans that started somewhere on earth.
here is yet another example of how bungie ruined their game for their fanbase in favor of more money.
This could have been a good game. Now we'll be lucky if it's mediocre by the first dlc. But I don't see many real improvements in the future. Just bungie/activision selling us the same recycled crap.

  • Bungie has said he never worked for them and he has declined to provide proof.

  • That is because his stating proof of who he is would slam him with multiple million dollar lawsuits.

If a former lab worker at Tylenol's lab quit then made a post saying there was an ingredient that caused cancer in it, but refused to reveal his identity due to fear of legal action from multi million dollar company would you blame him? Then in response if Tylenol made a statement saying "Nuh Uh. Nope. EVERYTHING that guy said is fake." could you really believe that Everything that was said was a lie? If the poster revealed his identity he would have to deal with million dollar law suits, not to mention other legal action. Plus there is too much info in too much detail for everything to be fake. No one would risk everything just to "#420Trollbungy".

  • First Tylenol is not a company it's a product. Second, you're basing your evidence on nothing. As far as anyone can tell, at this point, he never worked for bungie and he hasn't provided proof. Believe what you want to believe, but just stop with the bullshit.

  • And clearly you are unable to read a full post, because he could not provide proof for fear of legal action. Obviously you don't understand how getting sued by a multi million dollar company works. You don't win. So it either admit who he was a let bungie break him like a twig or say what he can to help educate you sheeple.

  • Okay not being able to provide proof is proof of nothing!

  • But bungie saying " nope. every single thing this guy say is a lie. He is a troll and should not be believed. doesn't do much to convince. This game is too broken for there to not be an explanation. Have you played any other bungie game? they are masterpieces. There is no justification for this. Either bungie is just terrible at making games or they lied. If you've played any halo then you know it's not the latter

  • Is it nothing? Can you prove me wrong? Nope? Can you explain to me in coherent sentence how logically my argument is incorrect? No again? Well then I guess you'd better take a seat then buddy.

  • Replace Tylenol with McNeil Consumer Healthcare or Johnson and Johnson. Arguing that it is a product not a company is pretty useless and you're pandering. Would you out yourself for breaking an NDA from both Bungie and Activision, Employee handbooks, defamation and loss of sales? That is a multimillion dollar lawsuit.

  • So I should believe something based on no evidence? Right.

So I should believe a PR employee doing PR by calling somebody a troll without posting evidence to the contrary? Right.

Aka, he is just a tool. Never listen to Deej, he just spits lies and knows it.

  • It was obviously fake; a trade system would be completely game breaking. Voice chat would have been a huge pain to remobe after already integrating.

Oh and how are all the other mmo's like World of Warcraft and Everquest with trading systems? They must be so freaking unplayable that I bet they never sell any copies. You know I bet because of the trading system in World of Warcraft and Everquest can't even sell enough copies to release their first DLC.
incase you live under a rock they have sold millions of copies and are very popular with multiple awards and dlc releases
Edit: added spoiler

  • I don't appreciate your sarcasm, I'm just trying to help educate you dumbf*cks. Destiny is a psuedo-mmo, meant for a more casual audience. Glimmer is capped at 25000. There is a 200 cap on marks. I could go on. The point is, it was built on a limited framework in an effort to make the game accessible for casual gamers. A trading system would accelerate leveling because post 20 progression is entirely gear based and you could skip directly to legendary weapons. Tl;dr: troll children don't understand that trading won't work because leveling is based on gear.

  • It's capped because there is such a low amount of content that without the cap everyone would have the best gear fully upgraded before the first two weeks of release. You don't have an argument here. Sorry.

  • Thats the thing. Not "everyone" would have the best gear upgraded. Just those who play religiously would form into an OP block, preventing those who have less time to dedicate from being able to compete/play. Ultimatley, our argument here represents the larger conflict of those who have gaming as a hobby vs those who have it as a passion. Destiny is, and has always been, designed as a compromise between the two. No trade system is part of that compromise. The Reddit troll was trying to appeal to a more polarized demographic, demonstrating his fallacy. My work here is done

  • As beautifully crafted as this argument is, can you truthfully tell me that had you been given the opportunity you wouldn't take advantage of the numerous exploits along with no cap? No one that plays this game would set themselves at serious deficit like that. Casuals and the passionates would all use the same exploits breaking the game, because of the extremely limited content. Had this game Been developed and released properly instead of being sliced and diced for extra content the economy could handle a trade system among other elements that should have been included.

  • I only said that trading would break the game, because the vast majority of the game is spent trying to create the right build. If you could trade between characters, then it would be so much easier to aquire the top items (they are not too rare, so basic economics would mean there is a low price) that most people would probably lose interest. Tl;dr: trading would de-incentivize the grind-fest, and allow players to circumnavigate end game content.

  • People are losing interest because we were sold a $60 broken Random Number Generator. The reason exotic gear is so common is because of the numerous farming methods had they actually anticipated this then the economy wouldn't be shot to hell already. Therefore it could support a trading system.

  • Why would either of those things break the game?
