Good theory except the part where we never KNOW we the guardian dies (future guardian? Meh whatever) if you had taken a second to think instead of going "OMG POST TO FORUMS BUNGIE NO BRAINS SUCH UNWOW" you probably would have thought of this, like we all did by about the 5th sentence.

And what evidence do you have that the guardian was alive pre collapse? Last I checked "dead a long time" was pretty relative and things could easily have "changed a lot" from whenever said guardian died to the current state of the world. It is not like the collapse began and suddenly everyone went well most of us go commit suicide and now the rest of us build a city to be the only thing we have left. No dates have been provided nothing PROVING anything other than you simply went "OMG AWOKEN WERE AFTER COLLAPSE IDK COLLAPSE HAPPENED BUT CLEARLY NOTHING COULD BE DIFFERENT FROM THEN. TO THE FORUMS!"
