I shouldn't need to shoot a lvl 5 mob 4 times to kill them at level 29, they should explode, and peices of them should rain down on me as if its a blessing from some wrathful God. Also level 5 mobs should cower in fear of me, and hope that I do not turn my gaze upon them lest they are destroyed. What they shouldn't do is jump in my face like they did when I was level a 3) In short bungie, all of your weapons suck and need to do more to make us feel powerful in PvE when we reach endgame, they do not need to be nerfed, simply increase the ones you failed on.The enemies beneeth my lvl should act like it, they should act like we had to when we saw a level 25 and were only a lvl 10. (we ran away, fast, or were cut down with barely a wave of their hand, and we could do no damage to them.... at all......even with rockets!)
This is the power dynamic that the majority of your players are used to, Bungie. Take Notes.
If you pull tropes like "level" and "equipment rarity" out and try to tack them onto a PvE gunplay system while simultaneously preventing them from actually influencing the world so that PvP mechanics can run trippingly along without any significant variation between players, you're making a lot of work for yourselves in the complaints department.
You tried to buck the genre, and you built your worlds on the assumption that we would care about loot and levels even if they didn't actually do anything for us; that we would embrace a shooter that looked a little like an MMO/RPG if you held it up in front of a really bright PR spotlight and turned so it sparkled, but was actually still just a shooter where everybody has the same stuff and relative power no matter how much they play.

Sometimes those outside-the-box gambles are rewarded. Sometimes.
Does it feel rewarding yet for you, Bungie? Because for many of your PvE focused customers (the ones who will buy your planned DLC full of PvE content)...not so much. Are your PvP focused customers going to pay your DLC asking price for a map pack and a handful of new weapon skins with sanitized combat stats?

I agree, the only reason to use exotics would be the perks, otherwise they feel the same as any other gun. And a little off topic but I wish that when I melee'd someone with the Red Death that it would use the perfectly good bayonet attached to the gun instead of punching them (or magic blast, or knifing).

Loved this post, the way you lay it all out is amazing to behold, also I am noticing that everyone against the patch lays out a consistent argument and most who love the patch just name call on those who don't. I don't want to read too much into that but it seems significant for some reason..... food for thought.

I liked some things in the patch. But the way bungie. Presented the raid. Made it feel like a fu patch. As for weapon patches.,.. They must have one of the developers kids working on that. Do they not know geometry???
