which lacks skill the person usen a weapon to 5-4 shot some one? or the person who is trying to play a match that is quickly getting over taken by VM users? do I agree that the nerf was needed. yes. no one gun should give you the power to face down like a boss in a competitive environment with a skill cap as low as "should I aim body or head?" frankly the big bad "nerf" will only affect the people who viewed the gun as an alternative to a rocket launcher and mostly aim body shots. people who applied skill and aimed head every time wont feel much of a difference other then needing to fire one more shot.
current damage rate:
5 head shots
10 body shots
wonder which would show greater skill to preform? usen the old VM? or usen this new one? hm..... I vote new one since you actually have to aim head rather then just spam rounds in a general direction and kill. now does VM need a bigger magazine in comparison with this nerf... yeah I think so would have been a nice compromise area in addition to the stronger crit.

Edited by Drippy drip: 10/14/2014 5:59:03 PMI killed guardians with 5 shots with my hand cannon .. it all comes down to the players skill in avoiding these shots .. nerf was not needed .. at least not a third of its power

I don't disagree that the VM is op in PVP but in PVE it is fine i don't feel it should be nerfed game wide cause of this fact it should just be nerfed in the PVP matchmaking same with auto rifles if there is a "Imbalance". They Shouldn't nerf stuff game wide cause of people crying about getting owned in the PVP matchmaking.

Edited by RedmondKhight: 10/14/2014 2:09:01 PMoften enough things like this use the same code for both PVP and PVE so if they change one they have to change the other. the other option is to go in rewrite a bunch of code give every weapon to sets of stats and then when up dates come not get the codes mixed up and accidentally nerf your PVE when it was ment for the PVP. not to mention this kind of path would take hours to DL for a patch. then things get more and more complex as they work on the doubled system. patches take longer to develop and out put. thing get mixed up or broken. servers go down weeks at a time while they figure out what is wrong. parade of issues that just crop up. of course it could also go smoothly and every thing works wonderfully and only the occasional -blam!- up happens. rather not take that chance that something -blam!-s up though.

I see your point

What you've failed to see there though is that they havent just nerfed it for pvp, but also for pve which i dont exactly want to go through the hard raid as much as i did knowing its going to be a total waste of time. If they want to focus on pvp then go make a pvp game rather making the pve side heavier.

again nerfed how? right you have to aim weak spots now. I am so so sorry that your fav masturbatory tool has a skill cap now. however if you stopped and though about it for half a second you would find something funny. its nerfed how? mobs especially the vex dont go out of their way to avoid you baring you leaving the interaction area or them taking extreme damage (in the vex cause head shots make them run at you like crazy people.) most hostiles will openly engage you if your in the interaction zone. hell if you dont want to interact then their are others who will -blam!- I find my self in the middle of brawls punching every thing I can and maken snipers have wet dreams about the shots they are taking on bad guys. now here is the funny part again. nerfed for PVE how? still hits just as hard minus 10 points if you even half way decent at aiming soft spots. also its an extremely accurate rapid fire weapon. not seeing down sides at all.... would I get this gun still -blam!- yeah love me some skill cap guns even though I normally devolve in to a boxing match with every thing cause I dont know better and cause its fun (normally win cause I found the secret to not dieing unless surrounded.) hell even if I were to say it scales up and its minus like 100 points on precision hits in PVE I would imagine the crit to still be a rather nasty sized number.

First, you're over-generalizing programming code; it's actually not that difficult to change if done efficiently in the first place. Second, where is the crit spot on a Minotaur? I think the problem most people have is not that they want an overpowered weapon for PvP, but that PvP balance shouldn't come at the expense of PvE nerfs. Bungie is sending the message that we shouldn't expect to get anything amazing in the future because it might disturb the balance of crucible, which is supposedly only a side activity to the PvE.

Minotaur is under the head. remove head by normal means aim the void that is left does increased damage for me most of the time. I find it VERY effective method to dealing with mino's. as for the other forms of vex no idea maybe the white gem but I normally aim center mass on them any way.

I take it from your profile, your one of the many people who play pvp and nothing more. So yeah you would agree with the nerf of damage output because you have a slim chance of getting it. For a pve heavy game, nerfing pretty much the only real exotic in the game just to suit the 'toddlers'

Edited by RedmondKhight: 10/14/2014 2:54:50 PMyou looked at my profile right? you REALLY took a look a my profile? what did you look at the sample of my most recent games? yeah if you did that you will nice something ALL IRON BANNER. I am an event junky I like getting event gear. only reason I am even doing iron banner is to try and get that event gear. then when I have the pieces I want I leave and enjoy the PVE like I normally do. if you looked at my stats from queen event you would see that I was heavy in to that as well. shocking how you generalize my interest with a sample of my last games. Also if you take in to account my other stats story strike raid and patrol you will find I have done more of those than I have done of PVP in the accounts entire existence. in addition you can look at my crus rep and find that its still rank 1 while my vangaurd rep is rank 6. sorry to say I am heavy in to PVE I feel that PVP is dominated by cheaters rather then CoD shotgun junkies.... also if I did do more PVP it would only be cause I could just spam the crus for win/losses and get marks and Rep then translate that to purple gear which gets cycled down in to shards and good stuff. Edit: best part is if you saw my recent search history you would think I was plotting on killing a lot of people give its all about guns and how best to fire them but that is just a small sample of my search history if you take it in context with every thing else you would see I have recently developed a hobby of crafting replica guns.
