I always thought playing a game should be fun because of the way it plays, not because I would have to work my a$$ off for some extravagant reward. Imo your attitude is a sad and sorry one - so much more as your "reward" hasn't any real value. If you want to work hard for some special reward, why don't you do it irl, where the reward is substantial and really worth it? So I bought Destiny because its promise was to offer tons and hours of good and thrilling gameplay in an expansive, vivid gameworld with a rich story and great variety. Instead I got a generic shooter that apart from its admittedly great shooter mechanics has nothing else to offer than grinding, grinding and more grinding in the hope to eventually get some special game asset; Something you couldn't never be sure of due to RNG. Now this RNG stuff is not for me, and I did not expect it all in Destiny. I had expected to find something like maybe a MMO version of Fallout 3 with a persistent game world. I therefore would never keep playing the raid over and over just for the rather unsure prospect of getting some great loot at the end. I would play it a couple of times until I had fully grasped how to play it efficiently, and then lose interest and go and look for something fresh to stimulate my intellect. For me, Bungie's true fraud lies in not delivering what they had promised a year or so ago - not in nerfing some OP game asset. If I had the power to do so, I would force Bungie and Activion to shut down for good. Their game designers would not get permission to ever create another game (all I would trust to them is to create some useful smart phone or tablet apps). Ofc this is just wishful thinking; I am just using this to illustrate my stance towards these people.

  • I can see your perspective and appreciate where you are comming from, I however enjoy MMO games and have never seen one that has 100% drop rate from a boss as that would defeat much of the reason to replay it and try new strategies. As for the real life comment I find that this is the last resort of the uninspired. The fact is I work so hard IRL so that I am able to pursue my hobbies in my ample spare time. One of those hobbies is playing games. But again what I do or do not do IRL is not anyones business and has no bearing on the discussion we are all having, which I may remind you is about a game, on that game's forum, with other gamers. So the tired excuse that I should try harder IRL to accomplish something is a moot point. Also I may point out that I play the game IRL and just because it takes place in a virtual setting should make no difference. Also if you are so concerned with "real life" as you put it I am therefore confused why you would take time away from that to post on a forum about a game whose developers you despise.... Because this is probably the wrong crowd for that. It is much like handing out anti-gun brochures in front of a gun show, no one will stop you from doing it, and yet everyone will also think you are insane. Good luck on your "real life" I truly wish you nothing but the best, and after you are done gaining enough wealth I encourage you to add gaming as a hobby you should try.

It always amazes me when someone claims he is working very hard irl, and then continues to explain that having fun in a game means to work hard there in his free time, too. Logic? Nah. Psychology, yay! There are quite a few people who share my opinion of Destiny. People who play Destiny. People who visit this forum. So much to the gun show argument. Do you have more logic of that kind for me?
