A lot of us have guns we use for both PvP and PvE. But right now there's a big issue with this. You can only have one of those trackers applied on the gun at a time, and the other one doesn't track at all while inactive. This behavior leads to some annoying outcomes.
Here's an example. Let's say you use Osteo Striga both for PvE and PvP. You switch to a crucible tracker because of iron banner. Once you finish, you forget to switch back, and it doesn't track any of your PvE kills.
In summary, this is completely unnecessary, should be incredibly easy to fix, and is incredibly annoying to have it happen to you.

Been wanting this for a while. Kills should always be tracked but you can choose which kills to display. Both, one or the other or none. The weird thing is that everything is still tracked in the api but just not reflected in the game. I had thousands on my recluse in pve but I always had the pvp tracker on but it still tracked everything in the api.
-
It should definitely tally kills as they occur in any activity regardless of what you have displayed. I think the gambit tracker works that way. I wonder if switching the tracker is saved as part of a loadout?
-
And I want an off option for all . Btw, pve kill tracks crucible kills also. Which is BS. I run PVP when playing pve, and vice versa to keep counts low because so many don’t have “off” as option.
-
It’s in the API. They just need to display it in game. As someone who used to use TLW a ton (over 6k kills) it would be nice to see that dedication in game. As it stands I don’t want use it at all now that trackers were added to exotics midway threw the lifespan of the game.
-
Yes! And exotics should track on an account level, rather than on an individual level. I shouldn’t have to infuse my old exotics just to keep their tracker stats when I could save resources by dismantling and using a duplicate at a higher power level.
-
Yes Bungie please focus on this, don't worry about anything else this right here is clearly priority
-
100 % agree. There's no competent debate against this.
-
I was talking about this the other day. Why not have a single kill tracker with 2 numbers... 12,345 / 1,763 First number for PvE, second number for PvP. Hell, even colour code the numbers, make PvE number blue and PvP number red. It seems so simple and obvious but they find time to create commendations which are the absolute dumbest idea in history and a huge waste of dev time.
-
What a lowest priority "problem".
-
Sure! Why not?
-
i prefer it not count without being applied. some thing are secret.
-
Absolutely! I hate it so much!
-
I have this problem with Traveler's Chosen lol
-
If you use Osteo Striga in Crucible PLEASE leave if you are on my team.
-
Hell yes.
-
Easy solution is to swap the tracker back to the mode you're playing. It's a kill tracker, not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. Would it be "nice" or "convenient" to have it swap for you? Sure. But I don't see it as game breaking or annoying. At least there is a tracker for kills now, there never used to be.
-
Why would the devs do something useful
-
Hard disagree. I like having no tracker at all.
-
I killed over 200 vex in an activity, 34 were counted.
-
They already are but tracked via a bot.
