The reason why one would say something like this is because these forums are filled with melodrama, and there is, quite frankly, no way to distinguish the actual real complaints and comments from said melodrama. I'm tired of it, and so are many others. It's why these forums are only really filled with the people who don't want to make a reddit account. People get extremely tired of stuff like this, really fast.Perhaps you don't see the reasoning behind it, but that doesn't mean the person is -blam!-ing insane. Why do you think that you, Lew, or anyone else is responsible for deciding if another player is being melodramatic or truthful when leaving feedback for Bungie? If you are tired of it don’t read posts with titles about quitting the game. Reddit is a safe space echo chamber for people who don’t really want to discuss the game. That’s fine. Plenty of memes there to enjoy. The reasoning behind it is that people who think they have a right to tell other player to delete their characters are insane and toxic.I see no feedback in the original post. You are treating it as such, but it is quite literally nothing if not melodrama. The guy just says "I've been a fan of bungie for ten years and now I'm leaving," with some filler words in between. Yeah he throws in some "bungie does nothing" but that is by no means substantial feedback. Also, since we're on this train of thought, it's insane to tell me what I should and should not read. Anyone, and everyone, is allowed to read anything, and express their thoughts on that thing, and I think they should all be given the common decency of not being called a psychopath. You’re the one who said you’re tired of it, but then you go and read the posts you claim you’re tired of. I said “if”/“then”. I didn’t tell you what to read. Again, since you can’t understand this simple concept, I didn’t call anyone a psychopath. You're right, I did say I was tired of it, but I still reserve the right to read whatever I want and say whatever I want about it. As does everyone else. And, you did tell me "Don't read posts about people quitting the game." There was an if in there, but that doesn't exempt you from having told me what I should do.And you are right, you didn't call anyone a psychopath, you said that what they were doing was psychotic, which, by definition, is relating to, or suffering from psychosis. A form of insanity. By proxy, you made the suggestion that a man was insane, and then, in another part of this thread, tried to pull the "I was just stating an opinion" card. You clearly don't understand the gravity of the words you're throwing around.
I didn’t tell you what to do, IF/THEN is advise not command. I understand that I am not calling anyone a psychopath, but I think that anyone displaying that behavior is displaying psychopathic behavior. I said so.
All right, I'm willing to concede the first point, though, despite what you advise, I will still read whatever I please. In fact, I make an effort to attempt to communicate with things I disagree with for the sole purpose of trying to understand the thought process behind them. Though, I will stand by the idea that saying someone is exhibiting psychotic behaviors implies that one is calling them psychotic. If that was not your intent, then I am willing to concede the argument. The main reason I started the argument at all was just because the rhetoric used is very similar to that of identity politics, which I have seen far too much of, and have caused more than their fair share of stress. I will admit that this argument very well may be the product of an emotional reaction on my part, but I will still stand by that it is probably better to call something unreasonable rather than psychotic.
1. I gotta call your bluff. You’re arguing with me but you won’t engage with me. I’ve asked you multiple times to explain why you think actions I describe as not sane to me are sane to you but you don’t respond. 2. I would tend to agree, except I am addressing a behavior I find to be psychopathic. It’s an irrational need to exert punishment on others, and it gets expressed here often. Unreasonable would be a more politically correct term, but I’m not interested in playing politics here. I’m definitely not interested in identity politics. I can understand where you’re coming from, and I stand by the statement (toxic would be another “better” term, but that is loaded too). I really do believe that the behavior is at very best anti-social and harmful to the Destiny community.
