You people realize this isn't the Bungie who made Halo right? This is the rejects who sat on the bench and wanted to leave 343. These people have no common sense at all and care nothing about the average video gamer. They care about money and streamers.

Uhhh this is a super halo thing to do. Dumbass
-
For secrets, not for paid additional content.
-
I seem to have missed the part of halo where you got free additional content. You know, where drive volunteered their time for your benefit
-
That's not what I meant. In halo, the extra content was just maps, maps that had secrets and really the secrets had no value other than being cool. Destiny on the other hand has content that impacts the game somewhat. With black armory, they are supposed to give us content not puzzles that require more or less streamers to actively complete just to continue with the content you paid for. I don't really care all that much because somebody will open it eventually, but it's been quite a wait so far with little to no progress and honestly I don't think I paid to wait for somebody else to unlock content for me. It's a waste of time and honestly I hope they never do it again because it adds nothing to the experience when so many people are already on the fence of just dropping the game in the first place. It's a REALLY stupid move.

bro, totally agree. can't wait for 02/22

In old school MMOs, devs would do things like this and we LOVED IT. There was an enormous saga in asherons call where PvPers on one server fought defending the enemies, which stopped the story from progressing. Of course, they wouldn't have the story out of sync on one server from the other 7, so the entire community sat in suspense watching. It lasted weeks. They had to have outside mules bring them spell ingredients, foods, etc. This event stuff is awesome, it's just been wasted on the most shallow generation of gamers. But alas, video games have been infinitely dumbed down. And worse, gamers have been even more dumbed down to the point that when a dev tries to implement something similar, and to a much lesser extent, they whine about it and accuse the Dev of withholding content.

Yea I think most people forget this isn’t a single player, first person shooter like halo was. It’s an evolving world with a community of players. I personally think this is awesome and hope they do it more often instead of sticking to this some what linear story path they’ve had previously, where it’s a huge community of players but it always felt like you were the only guardian.

I think Destiny just isn't the game to do those kinds of things with. Destiny doesn't have a good track record and people aren't happy with them, so it's not the best idea with that in mind. I don't mind puzzles and things, it's just...i not only don't want to wait for that, but there's pretty much no way I could solve it on my own. If it were a bit more simple, sure then it would be fine, but this puzzle is so convoluted and there are like no hints or clues.
-
Yeah, so the entire community needs to come together to figure it out, like what they did in D1 multiple times and what tons of MMOs have done. It's awesome. Why isn't destiny the right place for it? Because the hive mind decided to bash the franchise at any cost? Wouldn't that be the reason it should do some things that are different and have a greater level of depth?
-
Like I said, I don't dislike it, just that something like that isn't something I desire and a lot of others don't either. To them it doesn't add depth as it feels more like a cop out, which is something not unfamiliar. If you like it, that's fine, but I don't care about these sort of things and I certainly didn't ask for it.
-
but where are the original devs from Halo and destiny 1 now? did they work for Anthem or something else?
-
Imagine thinking 343 is any better
-
Been saying this way to much. They are Bungie in name only.
