Sooooooo does anyone else find this Niobe labs puzzle thing kinda dumb? Why does bungie think we want to watch streamers figure out a puzzle?
Edit: this twitter thread sums up how I feel.

Edit 2: another good article about the problems with Niobe Labs

Edit 3: from Mayhem420 in this discussion:
The last forge will be available at 2PM PST based on bungies twitter

Why do people watch streamers anyway? Just play the ducking game...
-
Despite your opinions, tens of thousands of people tuned in to those streamers. And while many were frustrated, many also had a good time. I didn't think it was a terribly well designed puzzle or event, but I'm glad they tried something different.
-
So very very dumb, so are some of the quest steps for the sniper. Example, hope rng gives you a rare bounty.
-
Rare bounty ever more dumb if I not have rare bounty this week I have to wait for 2 week

I thought it was a cool idea, but to many people are whiny babies who don't want to put any work in, there's a reason why truly challenging games like dark souls and bloodborne are so rare nowadays. Luckily the indie game community is making some challenging games for people that don't want to be spoon fed their content.

Secret Bungie Summit: Streamers: we need views and content aimed specifically for us so we can get money and shill for you. Bungie: Say no more...... In all seriousness, with Anthem looming, this was probably the worst time possible to experiment with pissing the average consumer off.

Once you get inside the Forge and look up... no roof. It looks like it was blown out by an explosion. So there was no reason to solve the puzzle to unlock a doorway anyway since you could access it from your ship. Brilliant.
You could do it yourself if you wanted... oh wait you’re probably not smart enough thanks for admitting it.
So this is a funny little quote I got from a "casual player" by their own admission when I said that it's wrong that the majority of us should have to wait for someone better at this to complete the labs for us. I didn't mention my capacity to think at all. I know I can't do it, but that does not mean I'm not smart enough. It means that there is a puzzle given and we have no -blam!-ing clue how it works. Shoot the symbols, but what next? People who are in the minority of players who defend the Niobe labs situation are wrong. The majority agree that the way the labs were done is bad. It's not a community event, a community event would require the community to participate together rather than allow for a tiny group to complete one area and unlock the content we all paid for, for us. We could have all given it a go, we could waste our time. The streamers literally get paid to figure this out just as Bungie get free advertising from the streamers trying to figure the labs out. What do we all get? Nothing except our time wasted again. But people like the person who said what they said, disagree and think we're just not smart enough to figure out a puzzle. The thing with puzzles is that there needs to be clues as to how one might solve said puzzle. Hell, it's not even about whether I'm -blam!-ing smart enough to figure it out. All I want, is what I -blam!-ing PAID FOR.

Did anyone figure it out yet?

So do you have a brain? Is it hard for you to grab friends and figure out a puzzle? What does it matter if streamers are solving it? you need to solve it to move forward. Stop blaming others for your lack of skill and go play the game. Don't have time? Make time. Can't make time? Oh well. Can't follow or find clues? Oh well No one is putting a gun to your head and telling you to play the game. Want to get tired of something? How about reading the incessant whining Of lack of time, effort, passion, 5 jobs, 10 kids, dad lost his left foot in the war, bungie called me ugly. Here's a great solution. don't play the game.

Yikes.
-
Anthem comes out soon. Just go get an older game for 10 bucks to keep you busy till then.
-
Bungie is just incapable to entertain the masses anymore. They are pulling their last possible wallet heists, until September or D3.
-
I didn't buy a season pass so I could wait for Datto to solve a puzzle. No thanks.

I hope all the good folks at BioWare in Alberta and Texas are seeing this. I hope they are cracking that champagne as they watch the destruction of their only true competitor.

Black Armory - Niobe's Torment Level 7 puzzle: Type the code: A-N-T-H-E-M with Hammerhead

This event is trash. Symbols are trash. Puzzles are trash. We want to shoot things in this FPS game. This was the most cringe event ever, what an epic failure.

Edited by Coldhands: 1/9/2019 6:17:07 PMDifficult puzzles that unlock new stuff are cool, but Bungie really shouldn't have connected new game content for everybody, with an event only a handful of players can really meaningfully participate in. If this was a puzzle Bungie had never mentioned, that led to content nobody expected, it could have just been a cool little side thing for the super hardcore to work on while the rest of us played a new Forge. Making a puzzle like this THE thing that unlocks the next bit of advertised new content was where they went wrong. It's hardly a big deal, but it was poorly thought out. At least it gives the drama queens here an excuse to ***** some more. : p

Bungie is really bad at the details of their decisions. This actually wouldn't be bad if there were checkpoints on each access level. Right now, only the dedicated are doing it because every wrong code equates to restarting the whole thing. No one has time to do this except those who do it for their jobs. With checkpoints, all fireteams in the community could be on the same spot and then it's just figuring out the puzzle for that spot. No "attrition" battle, which is completely and utterly stupid. One simple choice and it could have alleviated a TON of the backlash.

Any one else excited for Anthem???
