I disagree, faster TTK will make it feel like CoD (kinda) and no one wants that...this game was "supposed" to reward gun skill but adding fast TTK there is none of that and everyone is special

Thankyou, someone who understands! You can't buff TTK without changing it dramatically. For instance, take a look at handcannons. The moderate rate of fire archetype kills most people with 1 headshot and 2 body shots. In other words, you will kill most people with 3 shots. If we buffed their TTK, the only way of doing that would be by reducing the number of shots it takes to kill someone. If the moderate rate of fire archetype handcannons killed in 2 body shots, they'd be incredibly OP. This would be even worse than the two-tap Thorn since it would kill people even faster than it. This doesn't just go for handcannons, it goes for every weapon. If you reduce TTK by reducing the number of shots it takes to kill someone, it makes all primaries incredibly OP. It lessens the skill gap, promotes poor gun play, and it doesn't promote counter play at all. If primary TTK is increased like this, it'd just come down to who saw who first.

Considering most players use special weapons as their primaries one can argue that the community plays this game with the goal of having a CoD time to kill. Even if you bump the TTK for primaries its still will be less than what one would see in CoD.

Edited by Darches: 8/28/2016 4:57:57 PMGunskill is already rewarded with snipers... There'd be no difference.
-
Snipers are the only weapon though! There should atleast be a few more
-
No it won't, that's a load of rubbish. We would have to nearly triple auto rifle damage for it to be like cod.
-
Other than pre-nerf Vex and MAYBE pre-nerf Suros, Destiny has never felt like COD. If primaries were buffed to Y1 and early Y2 it would still be slower paced than COD.
-
I guess...I think the bigger issue is the maps...if there weren't so many sniper lanes maps or shotty maps we'd be ok...needs to be bigger maps but not as open with lots of cover etc
-
Minus last word and thorn, year one was nothing like cod.
-
But it was WITH the exotics...and you can't take them out
-
Yeah, I'm not asking for damage buff on hand canons. It would not affect the time to kill at all. I was saying for the guns I'm calling for a damage buff, look at them in year, they were more powerful but definitely not like cod
-
The hand canon range isn't speeding up ttk The pulse rifle buff won't make it faster to kill for the hawksaw and grasp archetype, it'll only allow you to two burst with the slow shooting pulse rifles.m The autorifles buff is just needed to be on par with all the guns at the moment.
-
Also the more range a gun has the farther out the DMG drop off is so it does affect TTK
-
I didn't say range I said accuracy.

-
For The Last Word it would easily speed up TTK and soon Thorn when it gets released...no ones gonna be using legendaries when we can use the exotics
-
You clearly don't know what ttk is then. Increasing accuracy has no bearing on ttk unless you're missing a ton. Ttk values for all weapons are based on the premise that you don't miss any shots. The theoretical ttk will never change unless fire rate or impact is changed.
-
But the more accurate the gun is/ you are with the gun, more bullets lands making it easier to kill right? I know TTK is about landing all the bullets but giving more accuracy will make that 10x easier? Should reward gun skill without buffing accuracy on certain weapons
-
No because ttk is calculated as if you never miss a shot. In game ttk is lower than the real ttk value. In game you'll see better performance but it won't change ttk at all.
-
Oh alright
-
How would it speed up ttk
-
agreed.
