I really like buffing primaries. I mean, all that dust on Mars and all that water vapor on Venus, it really ruins the finish of your gun, so definitely buff it out. Also, don't forget to lubricate the action. Nothing more irritating than having your MIDA Multitool do a stovepipe when you've got a Thrall swarm coming your way.

A stovepipe is a malfunction in an autoloading weapon. The spent shell casing gets caught in the action and doesn't eject, so the gun is locked open and doesn't work anymore. Malfunctions of this nature are commonplace wuith guns that have not been properly cared for.
