The best way to deal with anyone with poor connections is to make them all play against each other, regardless of playlist/event. The implementation of this should be highly aggressive - if you have a red bar for more than 1 min, then you are removed from any match you are in and match-made into a red-bar list. Someone with a better connection is then match-made into the available slot. If your connection is variable, frequently red-baring, then you remain in the red bar list until your connection is stable, using data from a sample period of the next 24 hours. SBMM should absolutely remain in place for Trials though, which is meant to be the zenith of PvP competitive play. There's no grand-prize for the best community players, so everyone should be made to play against people of their own skill. Make it equally competitive for all by keeping SBMM for this mode. The same rule above applies - if a team member red-bars for more than 1 min, then they are removed from the game.
