Honey Badger don't even care about your K/D.
Honey Badger cares about your K/D in past 30 days.
Each of us is getting better, learning what loadout works, learning maps as they are released. Yeah, I will check your overall K/D, but what I really want to know is how are you playing *lately*
I didn't even bother to play meta when everyone else was using vex, thorn, felwinter's. Then when I started to do that my K/D went from .44 per game to avg of 1.2 per game. If I use Mida (which I don't like the *feel* of) I can get a 3+ K/D. That says something about the inbalance in weapons. Weapon loadout>skill in Destiny.
No I am not calling for nerfs... sooooo sick of nerfs... just stating that if your K/D is bad, trying playing the current meta and see what happens.

What if all of their recent games were against people without thumbs? Overall k/d would give a better impression on how they generally play.

Haha ive seen that video

I made a post awhile back about which stat is most important, I had overall kd, past 30 day kd, and past 7 day kd (among other options) and I was disappointed at how low recent kd was in relation to overall. Yes overall kd can be important, but I believe recent kd shows a more accurate picture of how that person may be playing today

My general feeling is that anybody that had a 1.0 K/D prior to the december update has probably seen their K/D fall in the past 30 days. Purely anecdotal, but my K/D falls into a very tight range these days (assuming you throw out matches where ppl are quitting and it becomes a runaway)

you are probably right, Bungie has stated in podcasts that their goals is to get most people matched so that they average 1.0 KD If you are noticing a drop, it means u are being matched to people closer to your KD
