KD means something to an extent.....2 kd player is going to be better than a 1 kd player...but there are instances when a 1.3 kd player could be better or just as good as a 1.6 kd player. 1.3 kd player never runs from a gunfight and never quits a match. He's focused on killing quickly and his accuracy instead of focusing on how many times he died in a match. 1.6 kd player quits when he's losing and pub stomps solo players with his fireteam in skirmish while camping constantly. Basically, monitoring your KD will not save you in a clutch 1v1 gunfight in trials. Having accuracy and practice in those situations will help you....so don't worry about boosting your kd every match....this will lead to frustration and worse gameplay. Just focus on improving and take it one gunfight at a time and the rest will take care of itself. I'm not a great pvper but I'm decent(always solo) at times, these are just some things that I try to do to get better at the game.

  • I beg to differ, back in my days of call of duty I had a slightly impressive ratio of 2.6, maybe more or less. It's not amazing but it's way better than average. Now, the reason I was a shit player is this, I only ever concentrated on kills. I never went for the objective. That led me to lose a lot of games but being young I never cared so long as I had the most kills and least deaths. I used to think I was a great player but it took until I grew older to realise why people used to hate me being on their team. KD doesn't count for everything. If you get the rift 4 times and score 4 times and get shot just after you dunk that rift every time and get 1 kill, That's what makes them the best player on the team because they have accumulated half the winning score for the team. Even though you would have a ratio of 0.25.

  • sure I agree objective is very important...all I was stating is that some higher KD players aren't as skilled individually as lower kd players. Try worrying about what you have to do to win the match instead of boosting your KD....and that will improve your gameplay. That was my point

  • Well my KD is at about 1.5 and 75% of the time I am at the top of the scoreboard. I have improved since September when I started playing the game.

That was my point[/quote] Just making sure you knew that I wasn't trying to give you advice....I meant in general FYI. I used to have a 1.3 something KD but it has dropped significantly since they incorporated the skill based matchmaking...every match is so damn sweaty! Like I said I'm a decent player that has good and bad matches.

  • Your gunplay determines your kd, not the other way around. I have 1.8 overall and I always stay with the fight. I always push. I always flank. I never leave because I'm losing. You can't make the broad accusations because someone appears to enjoy having a nice high kd spread

  • I think you read my comment wrong....I pretty much said KD does matter to an extent. Normally higher KD players are better BUT there are times when higher KD players get it by having a constant fireteam or other things. I agree with you
