Over 1.0 does not mean you're above average. You'd have to collect every players kdr stats to find the average.
Over 1.0 just means you're efficient. I'm sure destiny's average is closer to 1.2, maybe to 1.4
Edit-I'm sure my average is under 1.0

How do you figure it's that much above 1.0? For every kill someone gets, someone dies one time. Then obviously misadventures would make it so there are more deaths in PvP than total kills in PvP so I really don't see how that's plausible.

Yeah now that I think of it you're probably right. There are probably a lot of .5-.8 that would drag the average down a lot.
