He mentioned raising it as a way to prevent trolls. You're still missing the point.

No I understand that raising it, will make some trolls second guess their trolling. How does that not say loads about his personality? To fix a problem he just charges for it. You also said that they can cancel the donation? So how does raising it fix the problem?

In my opinion, it doesn't. Though I believe most use transactions through PayPal ( or similar ). If that behavior was regularly repeated, I could see them not giving the refund as it maybe seen as fraudulent or something. So the end result may be what they wanted. Trolls less likely to gamble with their money. He also didn't say he was definitely doing it. Sounded like a quick thought on a possible fix. After considering it, he probably wouldn't go through with it. Kind of getting away from the point though. You made it sound like he was doing it to be greedy or like he was begging or forcing people to pay etc. He was trying to think of a way to punish trolls and make the stream more enjoyable for the vast majority. That's a good thing right?

How do troll get under people skin? Mute them. By acknowledging their behavior you lose the advantage.
How do troll get under people skin? Mute them. By acknowledging their behavior you lose the advantage.
True, but it's open to anyone. Trolls do get banned after the fact. Most have a pop up when a donation comes through with their message. So they get some kind of acknowledgement either way. The streamers do their best ( mostly ) to ignore it and make it go away. But the "damage" is already done. Probably should have a type of review system first before they're posted. More work for them ( or a mod ) but probably the best way.
