If you stream for money shame on you. Gaming should be a hobby not a job. You people begging for money make me sick. I don't know what's worse the people streaming for money or the idiots who donate to them?
While you're sitting on your ass fighting aliens you have little kids fighting cancer. Shame on you...

This one is a very ignorant one, for sure
-
I like to watch streamers. I'm not much of a TV person so when I'm bored I watch streamers play pvp. I've never subscribed or donated but you are pretty out of line to say anything about the people who do and how they spend their money. Most donations are like $1 and a sub is like $5 a month. You really gonna rag on someone for spending like $10 a month of their earned money so they can support someone? And regarding the streamers. Streamers don't start off full time. They start off just streaming for fun and making YouTube videos to help people or for comedy. They do it because they enjoy it and then if they start to get popular and people start subscribing and donating they may go full time. Who wouldn't want a full time job where you just play video games? My point is. You're the ass for judging people on how they spend their money or what they do with their day.
-
More like shame on the people who actually pay money to watch somebody else play a video game.
-
Someone is butthurt their Twitch stream gets no views
-
Funny how you mention kids fighting cancer, have you heard of extra life? http://www.extra-life.org/ It's a charity where streamers and youtubers raise money for KIDS FIGHTING CANCER. Funny how you call them greedy, when the last Extra life event raised almost 4 million dollars. http://nerdist.com/extra-life-gamers-raise-3-99-million-for-charity/ In conclusion, if you don't want to sub or donate, you don't have to. Many, many streamers believe that a follow is all you need to do. I don't see why you're getting so worked up over other people subbing or donating,it's their disposable income. They want to support the streamers so that they stream more. No one is forcing you.

Edited by Rek: 8/2/2015 10:28:26 PMI stream for fun. Never ask for donations and never will. That's up to whom ever wants to. I appreciate a follow over a donation any day of the week. I don't look at this as a part time job, but as a way to meet/interact with new people. It's a hobby when it comes down to it for me. On the other hand, I have seen some (not many) streamers practically beg/force their viewers to donate. That is just ridiculous and shouldn't be accepted. Full-time streamer or not, a viewer should not be obligated to throw money at their screen (ha get it?). The views alone when partnered bring in money from ads, subscriptions as well. Just my opinion.

If this is a troll it is a poor one. Nobody can possibly be that stupid.
-
Nerds gonna nerd
-
Idiots donating
-
Edited by z28camaro: 8/8/2015 3:58:40 PMSo comedians shouldn't be payed because all they do is create comedic content and then do it in front of people like streamers whom make content
-
What about professional gamers? Not everyone can be a Shesmynerd, but anyone can be a Letdown James.
-
I know! Was looking for a third team mate and I saw, looking to go flawless? Just pay and it will be a guarantee flawless! it's so stupid.
-
why are you on the forums when you could be donating all your money to charity? Thats why you have it right? Streamers stream for fun and eventually gain popularity. If they get paid then good. We pay hookers and strippers money for basically nothing useful. Just because we have problems in the world means we cant have fun? Okay
-
Idiots that actually donate are the ones who should be made fun of lol. Like How pathetic to donate to a overacting idiot guy gamer or a girl gamer with big boobs(that probably sucks at the game) that you're hoping to impress lol beyond pathetic.
-
Would love to stream and play eveyday for a few hours and quit my normal job.. You're just jalous....
-
Funniest part about it is that the two diehard streamers for destiny Broman and Gothlion never have anything bad to say about destiny. Their entire "living" is based on the success of this game. Even with the new extreme changes that are coming to this game they will not criticize any part of it because destiny spoon feeds their lives. It's sad that this game with its flaws and all will never have an unbiased opinion from their mass streamers who are more than likely on Deej's and Destiny's payroll.
-
Gaming on the internet is basically advertising for games I'm not saying that they should get paid a lot though
-
i have a couple friends that do this. it has its ups and downs. for the most part, i think it is good for the people that dont have a lot of friends. these people chat in forums and put their own runs together. you dont have to donate. you can still watch and play.
-
I'll tell you why you're a -blam!-ing moron after I wake up. This is just so I don't forget to do so. Eat shit.
-
Well although I can understand your view and points, that's like saying sports should only be a hobby and not a job.
-
OP doesn't know how much hard work has to be put into it. For every 10 minutes of video game footage captured, roughly an hour gets put into editing. Meanwhile, in my real job, I sit down, literally do nothing, take extended lunches, have a cig and coffee every hour, and go home early, super early on a Friday. And I get thanked at the end of the week for a job well done. I am... An Administrator.
-
Please tell me you did this to trolololol people.

Edited by Shadow Artiste: 8/2/2015 11:43:47 PMThis is a pretty ignorant post. Do you know about the many charity events in the streaming community that raise more more for kid's suffering from cancer than you ever will? Extra Life is just one example of a charity that was used streaming to generate millions of dollars to help sick children. Have a little read about charity streaming. Bump this to ruin OP's argument. Edit: I just remembered No Hands Ken, a streamer who plays games like Diablo 3 and MOBA games and he has had both of his arms amputated. It's utterly inspiring to watch the support and encouragement he receives in the comments not to mention he's able to support himself financially through streaming alone.
-
Aww poor kid did you try streaming and not get any attention? This post stinks of envy
-
Sport is a hobby, no one complains about that being a job, streamers are basically entertainers and that's a legit job too.

title is correct
