Well, I guess. I played WoW and Runescape for YEARS. I don't anymore. Was it pointless? Maybe, but I had hella fun doing it. Same with Destiny, I played the content when it was relevant and had a lot of fun! Video games will all, eventually, be pointless. Just enjoy the ride and stop complaining :) Edit: also, video games are not cars or ice cream. But, even they are eventually replaced by new kinds/models. So, ya.
