There's not much else I have to add to the "balancing" they've done with PvE exotics. Much of it has been said already. What I will reiterate is that a true fix for the Gally elitism would be optional matchmaking. I run my Nightfalls and PoEs late in the week, generally, and I spent two hours last night just trying to get a Nightfall team. One guy left because we had no Gally. Now the feedback forums are blowing up with bootybothered Gjallarhorn owners demanding Gjallarhorn-only Fireteams. Puts folks like me even further out into the rain. It's cold out here, guys.
