The thing that blows my mind is that people donate hundreds and even thousands of dollars to some of these people. I could see donating a few dollars as a tip but that's about it.

Ray Narvaez JR got two back to back donations of $2500 on Twitch (Used to be With Rooster Teeth) he literally broke down crying so it happens!

I saw one donation about a month ago that was $750. It made me think the donator had an agenda in mind.

One of the women streamers recently explained the donations were going towards the purchase of a washer & dryer set for her use. I forget whom was the streamer, but she is one of the popular ones on Twitch.

Especially when alot of them are already loaded enough to be in the position to spend so much time gaming. The Completionist guy on yt, clearly lives in a huge house, with a pool and gym. Yet people donated enough for him to buy a friggin ddr machine? Why?
