You make a good point here, intended or not intended. In general you have 2 types of players... The number 1 group: Players who like a specific weapontype for the feel of it and use it alot but also try other guns all the time. The number 2 group: Players who just use the best weapon in terms of damage and control. If and when the Thorn is nerfded they just google and find the next best weapon. untill this gets a nerf again....its an endless loop...lets call this group the Grasshoppers, they always go where the grass is greenest. Mainly for this I kinda feel sorry for the autorifle nerf....I really like using them, or used to use them. I still use them in pve because its the weapon designed for all round situations from close to mid-range use. The TTK is a bit longer...but who cares in pve about that. . And for pvp its just horrible now. The only reason for the nerf was that too many people where using them and the pulse rifles for example were underused. But who used the auto rifles? The number 1 and 2 group. who swapped the handcanons now? The grasshoppers!!! Who got the stick? the group who accutally likes playing with the auto rifle. I think Bungie would like to see 25% distribution between the 4 primary weapon types. This is a noble goal and would be best for the game tbh. But the method used now will not further this goal. After the handcanon nerf the grasshoppers will move along.....maybe testing weapon ballance more can eliminate a lot af this hopping. Again the people who play pvp with many different weapons are not the problem here...people who find the best weapon and only use it are the "problem". The only way the negate this to create a better ballance beween weapons en weapon types so more diversity in pvp will emerge just my 2 cents
