When thorn is nerfed, do you really think everything will be balanced? Before the auto rifle Nerf, nobody cared about thorn. But when SUROS was gone, people just found the next best weapon. If thorn gets nerfed, there's just going to be another "OP" gun. It's a cycle.

Next is tlw, then red death, hawkmoon, then vex, then they will move on to legendary weapons *cough, messenger, cough* the bitching will never end until all weapons are nerfed. Then, we will move into the buff cycle then repeat the nerf cries again.
-
Precisely
-
That was a stupid thing to say. Destiny is still undergoing developments, and weapon buffs/ nerfs are necessary in multiplayer video games to balance weapon usage and power. Eventually after balancing enough weapons they will hit a perfect point and no more changes will be needed.
-
Do you mean the point where every gun is the same, and there's no incentive to get better guns?
-
That's not true. There will always be more powerful guns but if bungie can get the balancing right then most guns will be good to use

Edited by Destroyr19: 6/4/2015 2:29:52 AMThe "balance" that people idealize is a game where there aren't any good crucible guns. Even though thorn is one of the best crucible guns, it's not alone up there. Hawkmoon, TLW, and red death are also viable crucible weapons that can easily compete with thorn.
-
If all guns are bad then they are all good. There doesn't need to be good crucible guns
-
If there are no good crucible guns, why even play the game. How will people be rewarded for their devotion?
-
Because you enjoy it. That is the whole point of video games
-
Most people wouldn't enjoy a game where there isn't anything to strive for.
-
-
Actually Thorn got a buff after SUROS was nerfed.
-
But the point is that there's always gonna be an "OP" gun
-
Not inless Bungie gets their heads out of their asses and balance each weapon individualy
-
If every weapon is the same, then where's the fun?
-
I never said to make them all the same, my God no that'd be awful, however it doesn't make sense that a handcannon is a viable option for ranged encounters. Each weapon has it's designated range. Scouts-mid/long Pulse-mid/long Autos-Short/mid Handcannons-short/ (barely) mid But when two HC's cover all of these very well there is a serious imbalance that needs to be fixed. I'm not saying nerf them into the ground, although it would make me happy, what I'm say is that Bungie needs to re-work it's PvP aspect of the game.

Unfortunately, scout rifles have never been a predominantly good pvp option in FPS games, because generally, people move too fast. As for pulse rifles, they can be just as effective at close range as at long range in the hands of a skilled player. Auto rifles were nerfed to the ground, and are no longer viable in pvp for the most part. As for hand cannons, yes, they have unrealistic range. However, pulse rifles are more effective at long range, thus, giving them the unique spot as a mid-long ranged weapon. So, hand cannons may have a lot of range, but they can be outgunned if the enemy is skilled. I appreciate you giving your thought into this conversation, but I don't see either of our opinions changing. So, bye, and thank you for the first intelligent debate I've had here in a while.

It's hard to find people that don't go on a rant when their precious weapons are on the line. And when I say Handcannons I'm talking about Thorn and TLW, other than that HC's are fine as is.

This.
