Change a tactic around one gun? Not even a weapon type, just a single weapon of the 100s.

If you use cover, you can win almost any gunfight.strafe left to right and repeat, if you're on a hunter use radiance dance machines.

If there is any skill behind the thorn user then they will just shoot you every time you pop out.

You clearly didn't read the last part. Strafe... they have a harder time hitting you.
