The whole light system in Destiny was designed specifically by Bungie to artificially increase play time to stop people from trading the game in. That's the simple truth. The Bungie of Halo is long dead. Only this greedy and corrupt Bungie remains. And DeeJ is the face of that beast.
If levels were based on hours and effort put into Destiny, like every good RPG, then people wouldn't feel so ripped off and disappointed by the RNG system.

Light levels is the same as gear score. Standard end game procedure in all current online multiplayer games.

No it's not. In no other games does armor determine your level. Your level determines your ability to wear the armor.

Edited by Nourface: 6/2/2015 11:35:56 PMI really am not sure what games you play but in multiplayer end game there is a max lvl. Ffxiv is 50. Ffxi was 99 after abby. Dc universe was 30. Wow is 99 now I think. Destiny, its 20. After you reach max lvl, there is no more level gain. Its all gear based. To determine qualifications for raids, this is what gear score is for. Now this may not be an MMO but its multiplayer endgame with new endgame being added every quarter or so. I have never played an MMO that released a new raid and a ton of new levels along with it. That was always accompanied by an expansion that is usually 1.5 years after launch. These may be "expansions" but we all know its just dlc.

Damn.. Had me shedding a tear.

Yea, and most of us are still around only because we purchased the guardian edition that included the season pass. Lesson learned though. They will never see my money again.

The said unfortunate truth. Road the hype train till it derailed and fell into the pits of hell.
