Borderlands seems corny as hell. I played the first one and was disappointed. Is there anything in Borderlands that is equivalent to VOG?

The first one didn't really have a story, in bl2 you feel much more immersed and have generally a better time.

There are tons of raid type things way into borderlands 2. Borderlands is pretty corny but awesome. Handsome jack is hilarious
