TO CLARIFY: this ISNT asking what's the better game, or what is more addicting, I'm asking who would win in a all out war, who has better weaponry, fighting, leaders, etc
A lot of these kind of polls have been popping up so I decided to make one. Which would you choose?
Edit:brought this to destiny topic
Edit:Weird, all responses say borderlands, but the votes say otherwise... If you vote destiny please say why
Edit: Do not count unknown power in destiny, like the actual darkness. Just the things we know

I like that we can use damage numbers to compare two things that have literally no comparable damage scale whatsoever.

I would like to point out that Guardians have about 200 hp Borderlands weapons do 3,000,000+ damage... And that's not even fully max level gear Not to mention Butt Stallion Just think about that.

Edited by GGGGrape: 4/29/2015 8:01:20 PMIf you are counting players, the destiny universe would kick the borderlands universes ass. Since destiny is technically an mmo having ten thousand guardians showing up at claptrap's front door with fully maxed Ghorns is an unfair fight. There are more than enough guardians to fight a single player with some varied AIs and hold back all the darkness forces. It is most likely that the darkness forces especially the Cabal would be aggravated by the borderlands forces for storming in. If the borderlands forces pushed on our solar system, they would be bombarded with multiple forces from Mars, Venus, the moon, the reef and spout two thousand guardians right off the bat. If guardians went to go attack Pandora, the Cabal and Fallen would have to be handled first as they would not be able to cooperate with each other and the guardians. But after that it would just be an unfair beat up because as there would be no darkness zones on pandora or the moon. The re-spawn time for all the ten thousand guardians would be 5 seconds... Not fair. However if guardians and players are not part of the picture, borderlands would have a huge advantage with the organization of the armies. The tower does not have an army as far as I can tell. No fleet, horrible weapons, only a couple generals and some robots. I'm sure they would be able to send some citizens of age into war from the city, but they would be handling low level weapons from the gun smith, and this is EvE so the attack would matter. The city would probably try to call on the reef for help which I believe would reply positive considering the circumstances. destiny enemy types would not be able to make an organized defence with each other. Unlike the borderlands enemy types which would be able to get along to fight the destiny universe as a common enemy. The Borderlands universe has a space fleet consisting of massive cruisers, battleships, and fighters. They have multiple generals and powerful machinery and bosses. If the borderlands universe advances on the destiny universe and picked the planets off one by one. I think it would be a win.

I'm telling you all what's the better game & it's Borderlands. I like to call it Destiny's dad.
-
Us in borderlands can go to level 72, you literally won't even be able to break our shields gaurdians. ;)

Edited by Flyinpenguin117: 4/30/2015 3:57:21 AMYou're comparing a franchise with 3 games and 8 years of established lore to a single game thats existed for a little over 6 months. Thats what annoys me about these kinds of threads. You can't actually make a fair lore comparison without restricting to the first game.

Destiny, only because I'd take shitty dialogue like "I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain" over dialogue consisting almost entirely of Reddit memes.

I only have 1 word for you. Krieg

Gunzerker with a DUH and a grog nozzle and two norfleets. He'll massacre everyone
-
"All of his lieutenants are ..." Salvador runs in with the bee on, dual wielding infinity pistols. "Never mind.." "He's in a tank" Crawmerax eats Goliath tank and shits fire on the psions. "Never mind.." "..." Valus ta'aurc shoots rockets at Pete the Invincible. Ta'aurc exolodes. Little light is fired and was last seen on a street corner claiming to be a veteran begging for glimmer.

Claptrap opens doors a lot better than Dinkle.

Everyone seems to forget Gorgons. One look and every vault hunter dies.

I would say the destiny universe as we are a MUCH larger scale, organised, equipped military force. Along with the fact we seem to be working with slightly higher levels of standard tech in the destiny universe. Borderlands has high tech gear, high functioning robotics, implants, energy weapons and accurate teleportation. In destiny we have that and we take it further by having accurate teleportation that doesn't require a "anchor," higher quality robotics simulating at the hardware and AI level true human intelligence. We have limited dimensional and time travel. We have wider availability to the effect the sirens use through our warlocks. We however do not have a deep level of understanding of our tech, since we are just now REALLY learning about the tech we have. So borderlands has that going for them. but I think the lack of a true proper and large scale military is the largest reason.

I enjoyed both games as a start. Destiny definitely has gun control, feel and sounds down. It's one of the best feeling console shooters. I think most cam agree with that. While subjective I believe destiny has a more visually appealing graphic style. Though I dunno if borderlands would be the same without its drawn style graphics. But in just about every other department I'd say borderlands is better. Particularly in the character and personality departments. Nothing in destiny even comes close. While I admit that the story in any of the borderlands games wasn't spectacular, the characters within them were always unique and entertaining. Destiny's barely existing in game story might as well be DOOM. But at least in DOOM we were given the courtesy of being told, "bad guys here, shoot em all."

Edited by Stray: 4/30/2015 7:51:05 PMBorderlands 1 was fun, Borderlands 2 got boring quickly along with the whole DLC debacle, and I try to imagine the Pre-sequel never existed

Conference call and the bee shield pre nerf will destroy all
-
Destiny. Because the borderlands people would be too busy sorting their overloaded inventories and get ice breakered and gjallahorned to death.
-
A gunzerker with dual Norfleets. Enough said.
-
Borderlands: everyone is evil but thinks they're the hero, they all kill eachother. Destiny: nobody has a freaking clue whats going on but you have a gun and the aliens are shooting at you so you kill them.

Edited by Unoppressed: 4/29/2015 12:53:23 PMAre people forgetting the norfleet sham combo? It's like firing 3 gjallerhorns at once and you don't take any damage from it. Also good luck getting that 4% chance to deal damage to me. P.s. All your ammo are belong to us.

First time our guardians went up against Crota we were destroyed (12/20/14) think of what his dad will do to the BL universe.

If you vote destiny please say why
The destiny universe would just need Crota, Atheon, the Templar, and the gorgons. The gorgons can be the first line of defense in a giant line looking in all directions wiping out all enemies. Crota can't die because there is no sword to take his shield down, Atheon just teleports everyone, and the templars shield can't be taken off. So he is invincible too. So I just don't see how borderlands could ever win

I really enjoy the BL universe, but the lore is strong with Destiny
