Of course you can get hit if you're really really stupid. So what. If I were driving a Psion, and you were cowering in the cheesebox, it'd be a wipe in under ten seconds. If the Phalanxes learned to drop down the side of the ramp too, you'd be toast.
This means you're exploiting the AI, hence you're cheesing.
