How about an exotic scout rifle with an underslung shotgun? You zoom in to fire the scout rifle, and hipfire to use the shotgun.

This will be considered very OP since you will essentially have three weapons equipped at the same time, but it still sounds cool.

That's a really cool idea. I mean talk about versatility. You can have a scout rifle for mid long range, a shotgun for close range and carry a sniper rifle for long range. Actually, if you made an auto rifle, you can effectively cover all ranges since it could more effectively deal with medium range.

Or have it like Murmur & change between the shotgun or scout rifle

Yeah, but then you've got to go into the menu to change it, and at that point you might as well be switching weapons completely.
