Difficulty increases with number of players so it would be more difficult with an AFK player.

It is, however no one likes carrying people through stuff to give them rewards they don't deserve

I get that someone might not like it, but is it really something to get "very upset" about? I am more worried about AFKs as a player that normally plays the weeklies in teams of threes, not as a soloer. Anyway, its Destiny, the weeklies didnt have matchmaking, people complained. Now that it does, people complained. Same thing happened with team chat. Same thing will keep happening with whatever changes they bring. People complained that Xur stop bringing heavy ammo, he finally does, people still complain about him selling NLB.
