What you failed to realize is that the people who want matchmaking are not the same people who doesn't want it. You talk like everyone on the forum is one entity.
Edit: and I'm one of those who prefer matchmaking but didn't mind looking for peeps at the forum.

I preferably don't mind it, but with match making I'm always stuck with afk-ers. XP
