1km of solid plating sounds pretty high. Would be either thinner or more like a honey comb or some form of framework.

I agree that it's likely a framework, but I think it's multilayered and deep enough it evens out to being equivalent to a single shell 1km thick.

Trouble would be trying to identify which parts would be neutronium and which concept of it. With a material that dense, it may not be necessary to have it that thick, with softer materials behind it to transfer kinetic energy away from the outer shell. But if the mass is correct then the traveler would be ridiculously destructive just by being anywhere near anything else unless it uses some form of theoretical gravity based tech.

I getcha, I'm currently stuck on what lies beneath the lattice. It could be a hamster in a ball for all we know >.<

Haha all hail the giant hamster, from which all light flows. Yeah I am rather curious about that as well. Given this is a Bungie I'm fully expecting some kinda crazy plot twist that flips things completely around.

Actually, we thought it might be a little low due to how massive the Traveler is. It literally smashed into something. It was seemingly able to weaponise itself. I think it's decently estimated. Also, we've seen some concept art.

I'd suspect more of a system of relatively thin hyper dense material, less being needed because of the extreme density, being reinforced with softer materials to transfer and absorb kinetic energy from the shell. Was basing this around current armor tech and theory. Similar to this. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chobham_armour
