Thanks! I'm not certain as to how the weight plays in with the space magic, but I think it lets the traveler channel the light to us.

After all... something of that kind of MASS is bound to have its own gravity field....albeit smaller to be sure. If anything its likely be supported by said field....passive or not....not to mention sheer weight.
