Light bulbs don't really have an upside... Can they be upside down?

Edited by KDA420: 7/17/2015 4:44:06 PMLight bulbs are usually upside down, except when in a lamp or something. Edit additional. A google image search on lightbulb confirms this. All metal bottom glass top, unless hung upside down from a wire.

I dunno which orientation that would be considered, but technically yeah.
-
Yeah, you just screw them in upside down.

Well, it depends on your view of a regular orientation of said lightbulb. For instance, most lamps have them threading down, but a lot of sockets have them threading up. I have a flexible lamp that had threading both up and down. The double socket in my room is sideways! And the orientation of the print on the bulb depends on the manufacturer.

Yes, the male end is always the bottom, whereas the bulb is the top.

You know how the lightbulb is always bulb-up when people have ideas, particularly in cartoons? It would look weird if they were bulb-down.
