Ok, so I'm putting this edit at the top of the post because I doubt many people have the attention span to read this entirely: if you voted no, what would make you vote yes for split screen?
I have been very surprised that few people have suggested a split screen mode for Destiny. Destiny, I will say, is a fun game without split screen, but it could be better if it had split screen mode. I'm not quite sure, but I would assume that most Destiny players only have one game system of a certain brand in their home that plays Destiny, so if they have a friend over they'll have to find another fps to play besides Destiny. I have heard that Destiny was originally supposed to have a split screen mode, but they decided to take it off. I don't know if that is true, but I know I would like a split screen mode.
If Bungie does decide to develop a split screen mode, make sure it's for co-op, PvP, and PVE. Also, add a mode in which you are able to create a game. This means the host decide the rules, such as which map, score limit, gun types available, how often heavy and special ammo spawns, what mode the game is (clash, control, skirmish, etc.), how many players are allowed, etc.
They could at least add a special offline mode of PvP for split screen for some people who think it would be laggy.
Majority of people seem to want split screen!
Also, as someone mentioned, we need private matches (pick the game mode, map, weapons used, etc.).

Why not? You can lvl up both characters at the same time.
-
Yes so I can play the game with my son instead of one at a time
-
Wouldn't hurt
-
Destiny doesn't seem like a game that should be split screened unless your tv is huge as -blam!-
-
No baby I don't split screen
-
I would love it to be split screen but LAG
-
No because it's a shared world shooter and the idea is that you play together through an online experience
-
To me Destiny isn't one of those games that needs split screen.
-
The suffering of graphic fidelity, memory, draw distance, and more, are not things I want hindering destiny further. I say no thanks to split screen.
-
Hey cousin!
-
Because ps3 and x360 cant handle it.
-
Not sure the servers could handle it, they're barely held together as it is but I would love to have split screen so the man and I can play together, instead of having to buy another console.
-
And maybe an explanation of why you chose it.
-
I'd love this but I doubt it would happen.
-
would be awesome. but those times are over (unless you have a nintendo console. i mean... about the last 5 racing games on ps4 and xbox one are online only and single player only.... if you cant play a racing game in splitscreen you know youre -blam!-ed.) today its just about graphics and getting money. the times of local coop and having fun with friends (couchplay, not online) are gone. besides, companies profit way more if you buy the console and the game twice to play with your family (or neighbor friends). so much for next gen.
im a bit stunned how many people want this... before destiny was out so many people were against it... lol. also what many people dont get, having splitscreen is always optional. if you dont use it, you have your ultra hd graphics, if you play splitscreen graphics are a bit worse.
Both my fiancé and I play Destiny, though I've only got one Xbox One and therefore, obviously, only one copy of Destiny. This makes raiding a little hectic as we both have two characters (thank God she can't do hard mode...yet) so who raids what night is a pretty detailed weekly plan. :P I would literally pay $20 to Bungie JUST to have split screen. It would make life so, so much easier. :P

I would love to have an opportunity to let my wife play alongside me using one of my characters or even her own if she wanted. I would LOVE that.
-
Noooooo Split screen is a lot of development time That's why many gave up on it Especially the online versions of games
-
Destiny would have nowhere good as graphics in split screen. It would take 2x as long to load the startup. And how would the guest save?
-
Has its pros and cons. My mate and I used to play borderlands 2 split screen, now we both bought Hansom jack edition and he had to start a new character because both were on my psn.

Edited by CrazyCadder: 5/19/2015 12:41:49 AMI think the consoles should have a dual screen mode that allows you to attach an account and controller to each screen. This way, two people could play the same or different games at the same time.
-
Bumb we need this as much as prvt matches
-
It would be great! It would be super fun for nightfalls and control.
-
It would be fantastic, I would love it. But it's not in the game for a reason. The software just couldn't handle it, it couldn't properly project the images onto two screens at once, it was probably all laggy and stuff. I don't remember where but I know I heard early on in the launch of the game that they were going to try split screen but it didn't work well at well so they just left it out.
-
hell no! 2 ppl join ur raid with no field of zero field of view! it would be terrible
-
They wouldn't put it into the game because it's an always online game. Where is that second person's character coming from? They're not going to let your friend make a character and play for free and they wouldn't allow you to use 2 of your characters at the same time.
