The House of Whispers is there to aid you brother.

Sorry but I think that's just fluff to send you on a wild goose chase. At this point, it would be weak storytelling to go that route after feeding the masses who want everything to be "You were evil the whole time!" plot twist. It's not really a twist when everyone expect it. Hell it's so common that NOT going that route would be the true twist after sending everyone down that path. A double bluff wouldn't worth ether. It's too obvious.

Staten's original story had the Traveller as the enemy. There's a reason we never go to the Last City. They know. We don't.
-
The stranger says: a side should always be taken, even if its the wrong one. Maybe shes refering to us
-
Today Xur literally said something along the lines of "Your traveler has a dark side"
-
i dont usually post on forums about lore of a game and with the story being so full of holes and loose ends. But my opinion is the traveler is the evil of the universe and maybe we are fighting on the wrong side....
-
Actually, it seems to elude to the fact that it may be doing it subconsciously, or because of its nature.
-
how did the hive get hold of that piece of the traveler?
-
I recently donned the Cloak of the Binary Star
-
Not really solid evidence but I did notice that a lot of the objectives from your ghost have some pretty evil sounding wording like "slaughter the fallen" or "exterminate the hive"
-
Then the DARK SOLACE ALLIANCE was born. Kill or be Killed. We are not afraid. https://www.bungie.net/en/Clan/Playstation/363459

I don't know whether to applaud you for being so creative or hate you for wasting your life doing this shit.
-
What if we are the flood and the darkness is the firing of the halos, and the vex are the precursors? Just wild speculation here
-
"It came to us so we could protect it and in turn gave us strength" -Javzx
-
Maybe it was preparing us for this inevitability because the hive had already infiltrated our planet if you remember from game play. its like war of the worlds were the ships came out of the ground.
-
We run around with big guns and other death causing abilities and kill everything in sight. Of course we are bad. What do you think?
-
"Unless... You are being pushed." I mean really? That's your defense? It's called DESTINY for a reason. Of course you are being pushed cause it IS your destiny. Case and point. Your evidence is shattered.

Edited by ActionPlayerRez: 9/28/2014 3:17:02 PMI BLEW YO MIND YESTERDAY with the hive names but this time i have possibly the greatest thing yet. The speaker is a Exo. If you glitch your camera into his head you can see the back of his head. It's a Exo head. BUM BUM BUUUUM did the traveler make him like a ghost to tell us fake tells of greatness?
-
There's a Hunter helm called the Achlyophage Simbiote(?) that has a description of "They said it would consume my thoughts and leave me full of Light" or something. That's sounds a bit evil to me.
-
I believe the traveler is the AI Rasputin, who traveled back in time from a million years from now to try to save the humanity that created him. He is not evil, but was created for war but changed his own programming to save us after having million of years to think about it.
-
Xûr- "Your Traveler has a dark mirror." That and with some of the Grimoire Cards, I myself am wary of what the Traveler was, is now, and what it may do in the future.
-
More evidence that the Traveler may not be what it seems... "The Ghost said to me: You are a dead thing made by a dead power in the shape of the dead. All you will ever do is kill. You do not belong here. This is a place of life. The Traveler is life, I said. You are a creature of Darkness. You seek to deceive me. But I looked behind me, down the long slope where the blossoms tumbled in the warm wind and the great trees wept sap like blood or wine, and I felt doubt." - Grimoire Card (Legend: The Black Forest)
-
And I've never trusted the Speaker at all
-
I wonder, what if bungie is trying to break away from the associations of light and dark? Generally light is seen as a good thing that gives hope, and dark as substantially evil and fearful. If the Traveller were to turn out evil, what if the light is evil, and the dark is good? After our guardian is revived from the dead, what if we just automatically assume that light=good and we have our associations entirely backwards due to human connotations?
-
The Traveler could be killing it's enemies ("The Darkness") by reviving their dead bodies, then turning them into it's own henchmen (us) and repurposing them, making them kill their own people. That way we'd still technically be the good guys, only we're under the illusion and control of the Traveler atm. Now that would be a cool little twist.

The deep story is strongggggggggggggggg
