I have to give a special shout-out and thanks to my VOG fireteams from this weekend.
Recently I have been determined to get the Vision of Confluence or the Vex Mythoclast. I really wanted a fire primary for help with PoE and especially the Vex for ToO.
This past Tuesday I got the Gorgon’s maze checkpoint from MESSENGER_555 and Danii3892. Thanks ladies! You were both helpful on my journey!!
Friday night I utilized the checkpoint to allow as many Dames as possible to come down for the exotic chest, and we had close to two dozen, with 5 exotics dropping.
Saturday morning I went solo through the maze and jumping bridge puzzle, then that evening got a fireteam together to start the last part of my quest for the weapons I sought.
We got through the gatekeeper checkpoint in a couple of attempts, and then faced Atheon. After several attempts, a lot of frustration, some weird glitches and new relic holders, we called it a night.
When Sunday evening rolled around, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to face Atheon again, but thanks to dchillout’s message asking if we would try again, I decided to give it another attempt and surged forward.
We got another fireteam together and braved Atheon one more time.
More glitches to be had. Containment field appearing ON Venus and Mars after teleporting, Atheon moving to far right hiding behind rocks, and multiple Oracles appearing at the same time.
But, my team hung in there with positive attitudes and perseverance, and no matter what weirdness came our way, we defeated Atheon!!
When the rewards popped, I got the Vision of Confluence AND the Vex Mythoclast!!!! OMG!! What a night!!
And even better than these new awesome weapons, is the fact of knowing that I really do belong to the best clan in Destiny.
Earlier in the evening we had a random male from my PSN friends start out with us. After a few rounds, he grew too frustrated, irritated with others and just dropped out (without saying he was leaving). After we found a Dame to take his place, the atmosphere and mood on the team changed and we were able to quickly achieve victory.
This is what I love about the Dames; the level of patience, understanding and tolerance with other team members.
When I was in the Army, we always helped weaker team mates to keep up, encouraging them and helping to lift them up and not bring them down. At times, the Dames remind me of this level of fellowship and true meaning of teamwork.
Thank you so much ladies!!!
To my Saturday crew – sleepy_opossum, mossarmur, Bunny_Mama, and Wings-of-Bahamut.
To my Sunday crew – bioticbutt, poiison_raiinbow, zopiz, and nicebunsgirl.
And, last but not least, special thanks to dchillout who braved this journey with me on Saturday and Sunday!! You’re terrific girl!!
