Bungie needs to add a ranged titan super to Destiny, why?? because every class in Destiny has a ranged super besides for Titans. Warlocks can get midrange kills with the nova bomb, or get buffs with sun-singer, and Hunters can use Golden Gun. This lack of a projectile super becomes especially apparent during boss-fights.
The reason this came up was because I was playing the weekly heroic strike with three defender titans when the Summoning pits was the weekly heroic strike, so I decided to switch to Striker codex. However Fist of Havoc's attack just seemed to just roll off Phogoth instead of damaging him, and he would immediately counter by insta-killing me. So when I ask for a ranged super, I don't mean "long-range" or even "medium range", I just mean a projectable offensive super which can be used to damage a boss, while the player can still be far enough away from the boss not to get blasted by the bosses proximity attack (Some examples of proximity attacks would be; Phogoth and Archon priest both doing an insta-kill stomp, and Fallen Walkers releasing Arc grenades).
Also this 3rd subclass should be a solar damage subclass, because Titans only have Void and Arc subclasses for now. Also warlocks and hunters would be getting subclasses for their respective missing elemental type as well.

I had an idea for a Titan ranged attack a while ago. I would be a fast traveling shockwave of solar damage accepts the ground, pierced through multiple enemies and would have a slight AoE around it and above it. Upgrades could be a lasting area that deals damage, it travels faster, farther, and does more damage, or wider shockwave to cover a bigger area.

Their supers as is are for sissy boys. They most certainly do not need shit.
-
Its because Hunters are better. Do you need that much science?
-
Then why the -blam!- did you choose to roll a Titan knowing he doesn't have a ranged super? Dumb kids these days.
-
What about a rocket salvo? Something akin to the Colossus' quake missile as a super, that would have some decent range
-
I'd want a solar melee attack
-
100% agree. My personal favourite would be a launch-able rocket fist.
-
Nah i think titan should be a close range thing. Because Striker is meant to take bullets and be on the front line not hiding in the back

Maybe you shouldn't play with four titans. No offense but I see what you mean. Be interesting to see a up close and personnel warlock or a a defender type hunter. I guess the Titan super you would like is radiance where you could throw multiple grenades in quick succession. You would deal a lot of damage and have enough distance not to get insta-killed.

A magma javelin would be cool, it pierces walls and void shields, nothing can stop it.

I agree. Im interested to see what the 3rd subclass for each character will be. Most likely, as you said, it will cover the missing element for each class, as well as a missing role. Hunters, should get a support subclass with void elemental type, titans get a projectile super with the solar elemental type, and warlocks would get a arc elemental super but im not sure of what it would be as they have a ranged super in voidwalker and sunsinger could be considered support with the song of flame perk or even fireborn (self-ressurect) but in my mind its more of a close combat super similar to arc blade or even fist of havoc because your melee and grenade charges fast as heck. So im guessing more of a straight up support style super like the titans bubble. Its fun to speculate and ill be excited when they let us know when and what we will get.

Now that you point it out, it does seem that the Titans are at a bit of a disadvantage. But giving them a ranged super kind of gets rid of that "I like punching things" vibe they have going. What if instead, they got an increased defense against melee type damage such as those insta-kill stomps. That way such attacks would still insta-kill warlocks and hunters (they shouldn't be that close!) but only take down the shields of titan (who should be that close).

They Have "Death From Above" which is ranged. You just have to be smart when you use it on a melee enemy. be sure you jump back/away when you use it. I have used it several times on enemies with these AoE effects when you get too close and I rarely die...i sometimes get clipped by it at the end, but its not fatal.
-
Use that superman ability and the titan is a projectile.
-
I'm guessing Titans will get a ranged super, Hunters will get a defensive super, and Warlocks will get a melee super. I believe this because each class has two out of three types of super. The types ring ranged, defensive and melee/close quarters.
-
Hey titans have weapons of light which increases the crit on snipers dramatically. Just so you know
-
Titans are a close quarts class but would be interesting to see a rocket super like what the cabal do.
-
Man Titans don't need a range Super, you just need to realize that you can't try and melee Strike bosses.

Or they could allow people to shoot out of the Ward of Dawn. I mean its lethality compared to other suppers is almost non existent (unless you go into the enemies bubble then BOOM shotgun) and I don't just mean only you and your allies but I mean everyone inside the bubble so if you throw it up and leave and an enemy comes around and goes inside then they can shoot out of it too
-
Use the perk that makes your fist of havoc shoot a line through the ground lol

Coming from a person who plays primarily as a warlock I would like to let it be known that supers on bosses is an incredibly overrated want/need, it sounds good on paper but in reality it's lackluster . I understand this is simply my opinion, but the fact behind my comment is that the supers don't really do much to a boss of compatible level to your guardian. Sure a level 28 warlock shooting nova bomb In the face of the lvl 8 Devil's Lair boss will take out a nice noticeable chunk but but still nothing Godly or even significant. The way I see it is this: Bungie created three relatively equal but different classes. Each of them have two elements and each of them are missing an element that the other two have. The Titan with more armor than anyone else has two close quarters supers. The Warlock with faster regeneration than anyone else but the lowest armor has two projectile based supers. (My opinion as I spam grenades rather than melees while in radiance) Lastly is the Hunter with the most speed and moderate armor, this class has one projectile and one close quarters melee. This all seems to makes sense and makes each character relatively balanced offensively and defensively. Now where I pull a 360 and say the opposite is in regards to PvP. The way PvP is built is in my opinion fundamentally unbalanced. We all have the same health AKA armor due to "balance". But how is it balanced now that the Titan's key attribute is nerfed? Hunters don't lose speed and Warlocks don't have lower regen abilities... Soo now Titans are left as the slowest character in the game with equal armor to everyone else and confined to close quarters specials. Hardly seems fair but that's why PvP seems broken. Personally I don't think Titan players will realize how tanky they are until the Iron Banner removes all the "balancing".
-
If anything, Titans need to be nerfed. Impenetrable bubble Super ground pound of ass-blam!- One hit melee charge Super -blam!-ing armored
-
They shouldn't have a ranged attack they are a close quarters class if you want range be a hunter or warlock
-
The real problem is that the Ward of Dawn does no damage. It's purely a defense buff. I think it would be cool if enemies would take damage if they went in the bubble, or if bullets bounced off it, they would ricochet and damage enemies.

Let me just say, Solar Minigun? 100 rounds, fast firing, and flaming. After summoning it, you get 30 seconds before it disappears. So you need to expel 100 rounds in a 30 second period. That's comparable to a Nova Bomb.
