PSA: Dismantling & You
So we've all come out of a Weekly or Nightfall or something with a Legendary or two that are totally garbage. You look at it, immediately identify the suckage & then just hold down square for your 2 Ascendents.
Not sure if this is common knowledge, but that dismantle could have been as many as 6 Ascendants.
I've been testing, & if you fill all of the experience bubbles on a Legendary, then dismantle you'll get at least 3 Shards/Energy and possibly as many as 6. You don't need to completely activate any of the perks with Glimmer, Parts or whatnot, just unlock them by accruing experience on the gear.

1 ReplyDo NOT do this with the Crota raid gear. You will ALWAYS get 2 radiants whether it's brand spanking new or fully unlocked.

2 RepliesConfirmed. But it only works with weapons. Armor you will always get 2-3 shards. Weapons that have MAXED exp (note: you do not have to buy a single upgrade, just unlock all of them) will give you 5-6 energies.
