After a lot of internal discussion among the Admin team it has been decided that for better or worse the Group walls will be disabled. This will go into effect Tuesday night for the weekly reset. We did not make this decision lightly. When it was first brought to me about opening the walls I agreed to give it a shot as they had been problematic in the past. The walls have now killed the forums and made it near impossible for new members to find groups for runs. The walls were intended for quick LFG posts and group ups but have instead become a chat system and post are becoming buried under members conversations.
The Admin team hopes that by disabling the Walls we can breathe new life back into the forums and help members get the help and information they need.

Hi Grimm, Just wanted to give you an update on the live chat. It's being used pretty frequently, both the social and the lfg. similar to the wall, certain dads post while others either read em or skip due to the overwhelming amount of messages. I've noticed a drop in forum activity since the line chat got going though. this could be for several reasons and not directly influenced by the line chat. this could also be from the line chat being a separate app from the forum. just thought we should keep you informed.

Just a heads up, I have been reading and I will try to get a post up this weekend to further discuss ideas to help alleviate everyone's concerns.

I would like to echo Kevlarproof and jimbacuan. If it wasn't for the walls I probably wouldn't have been able to hook up with you guys. I understand it is the admins' right to make this choice, but I would be interested to see a poll of the clanmates. One additional point I would like to make; if the wall is intended for quick pick up groups, wouldn't a post from an hour ago be irrelevant anyways? How about 30 minutes, or even 10? Personally I would not have the patience to wait more than 10 minutes, especially considering that often I only have 60 min to play in an evening. I need to get on, get in, and get out. Sorry. Guess it was my turn to rant. I want to be clear that I REALLY appreciate the DoD community. This is the first console game I have ever played online with people I don't know in the real world. If it wasn't for this group of mature and understanding players, I never would have attempted any raids and been limited to only playing with my brother maybe once a week. Currently I am able to find someone to play with every night. Whether I am helping or being helped, tearing up Aetheon or kneeling to Crota (gotta work on that one) we all have a great time. Please consider this; the best way to keep the community strong is by supporting the easiest methods of access.

Grimm I would like to suggest rather then having someone download a new app(which we know these app kill our batteries and drain our ram) why not create a new group(no clan) for all the PS3 clans that is wall format, kinda like a PS3 LFGgroup? and keep clan walls available to admins only so admins can discuss things without having to jump through hoops to talk to each other(or an admin group, same as LFG group) honestly I have not seen a drop in participation on the Beyond Forum, but the chitchat got out of hand and wish there was some way to actually moderate the wall. can you pass by the admin team(unless that includes me too you already have my vote :P)

I have a question for the admins on this subject. Would they object/discourage members of DoD using there own group chat app? I ask because I don't want to do anything that's going to mess up the admins plans, or create an issue.

I am fairly new to this group and while this is true I feel like in the short time that I have gotten to spend with these gents it is a shame you guys (admins) decided to take the wall away. I read your reasoning and while I disagree I respect it. Thanks to your dedication to the group I have gotten the chance to meet some amazing men as well as get some awesome gear that I would probably never have gotten if I hadn't joined. The wall, I feel, is more than just a place to get a quick group of guardian dads to play is where we cheer after a raid well done that took 4 hours because of, in the words of the great Vlad, Squishies like me. And we thank each other and share news and events and Give heads up for the New forum topics. Yes I've found some quick groups to join through the wall but I have also, and more importantly, met the guys I now play with on a regular basis. Guys like Berberic and three pistols and Deadnuts and Fafluck and Iclimb2u and Nfiore and carlsantos and wrecker and paradosis and Xyphus. just to name the ones off the top of my head there are many more. And we've shared a lot. I mean a LOT of laughs because of the shenanigans while teaching the game and playing. And I don't think I would have gotten that opportunity if the wall wasn't there. But I digress. That was my rant regarding that decision and well like I said I respect it because I respect you guys and this just means I'll spend more time on the forum. Stay frosty Guardians and I'll see you around to get to killing more of these aliens.
