When I first starting playing Destiny, the obvious choice for me was out of a Warlock and a Hunter. I figured that people who liked Warlock were a sophisticated people. We were those who enjoyed asking questions, knowledge, mystery, art and enlightenment.
Hunters were people who liked adventure and discovery, stealth and challenge.
But Titan players? Titan players were clearly uneducated and uncouth. A people to avoid. They were those who always took the easy way out.
Afterall, why else would somebody pick a Titan and go into PvP with a Shotgun? Who else could enjoy running around the map punching people in the mouth, barging them and kneeing them mid air? Panic Fist of Havoc and dancing in their bubble on a flag then tea-bagging anyone who enters after certain death? These people must be the dregs of society.
Or so I thought...
Outside of PvP, the Titans are very useful! I am always in awe of the tools that they have to protect other guardians. Most of all in the Raid. I am actually dismayed if we have less than two Titans on the team.
But there is more to Titans than their part in the game. The people who pick Titans - the real life person - the players behind the Titans; are the nicest people that you can find!
I'm dead serious! I was just looking at my friend list and I came to realise that the people who have made the best conversation, been the most helpful, made me laugh the most, encouraged me when I have struggled; have all been Titan players.
Titan players are not only very useful in the game, but they are very intelligent people who know how to have fun and they are simply a joy to be around!
Take a moment to look at your own Destiny friends. Let's see if its just me or not. I have a feeling that it won't only be me who sees this. Titan players can troll you hard in PvP but they are really nice guys!
Beneath all of that argy-bargy bravado, beneath the heavy armour and testosterone lies a real heart of gold. Without Titan players, the community would be at a huge loss. They are to our credit and they are the needle that sews together the very fabric of our community.
They built the wall around the Last City. And I can assure you that when the Darkness returns, we will be in need of every Titan that we can find.
I used to hate Titans like you...
But now I have come to love them and they are my best friends. If you haven't got a Titan buddy yet, I implore you to find a few. You won't regret it!
Perhaps, just like the Unfriendly Giant, Titan players are simply misunderstood. Or perhaps a little shy (although more often than not a little overconfident).
But who could blame them? They make everything look easy, but they are really working hard to protect and look after us all.
Titans, you have my thanks and my respect. I celebrate you. I salute you.
And I really... really... REALLY... enjoy your Disco Bubble Dance Parties!
This, coming from a Warlock and Hunter player, and a Thorny Guardian.

Glad to read this post! Uusally all we get is backtalk from anrgy Hunters because I managed to stop their Arc Blade. Kudos man, hope I can run with you some day
-
Ah shucks man, you're too kind. You are welcome in my disco ball anytime.
-
Haha the Disco Bubble is probably the best thing! It's like we are mocking our poor and unfortunate enemies. Anyways, I am glad you enjoy the nice Titans out there, I love playing Defender because it benefits everyone not just me. You also hit it spot on, I love helping people out. Light be with you Guardian.

Aw. Thanks. It's nice to be appreciated. :D
-
Thanks for the nice comments; it’s nice to be appreciated. I would say my personality is spot on with the description of your titan friends, inside and outside the game.
-
I chose the Titan originally because I thought it would be the least popular class. It's nice to represent the least popular option. Immediately became a big fan my mighty fists of destruction, and then later grew to love my disco bubble. I now feel a loyalty to my Titan that I can't bring my self to level up an alt. Thanks for the kind words brother!
-
Thank you sir. I loved playing the medic in extinction and i carry that same role now as a titan defender. No offensive super can compare to getting your team back in the fight.
-
You're welcome :-) P.s you aint experienced a real bubble dance until your striker friend drops FOH in your defender friends bubble, now THAT is a real disco bubble!
-
I've seen a ton of people hate on Titans going into the VoG. Saying they're useless and whatnot. Obviously they forget about Defender doing Void damage.
-
Thank you for your kind words. I look forward to seeing you, both in the mart and the arena.
-
Salutations to you sir for giving us humble titans a shoutout. Here's to you my good man

I agree with you. Yesterday my friend and I organized a raid team for our first time since we finally had some spare time to do it. Two raid vets agreed to be part of the team, a level 30 hunter and level 29 Titan. The hunter had a mic but I hardly heard him speak the whole time and he's running ahead of us all doing stuff on his own. Now the Titan, he stayed behind and explained to us every detail of the raid and helped us through the whole thing. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the hunter's help, he was doing well helping us out, but without the Titan player we probably would not have beaten the raid.

Wish i saw this post earlier... have dealt with too many titan haters out there... It's nice to see some love coming from people for the least represented class. Too many times i've been kicked from hard mode raids because "we want someone that is able to move fast and one shot oracles" or "your a titan, play a real class". They don't realize that with the weapons of light buff from our shields, your doing almost 1.5x the damage as with just time's vengeance for example. Sometimes we titans need a metaphorical hug... that heavy armor helps to hide the emotions and feelings we have as we take the bullets for our teammates. And even as a titan, i've noticed other titans as the helpful players in pve. Sure, i've seen helpful warlocks and hunters, but not as many. Worst class i've experienced are warlocks because they usually talk down to us titans (i know not all warlocks do this, but have encountered too many that do). Again, thanks for the support and love, it helps strengthen us to get out front and take those initial hits from bosses or draw the aggro so the others can recover.
-
Thank you for realizing what we titans are there to do :) your kind works are very appreciated

I hate hunters, must i make a post now? ( sorry hunters, it isn't personal)

Edited by Automatic2209: 11/6/2014 7:14:05 PMPeople who play a Titan are nice because they are a huge support character, and people usually play the character in-game that they relate to in real life. On my friends list, people who are very supportive and nice play a titan. The guys on my friends list who are kind of loners or have a "my way or the highway" kind of mentality are hunters. Guys who are warlocks are weirdos. It's true. Just look in the mirror. :)

Edited by steppinrazor: 11/7/2014 12:25:40 AMI play Titan, so cheers. (Though started with Hunter). Striker by nature, but developed my Defender skills too so I can be whatever my teammate needs. Took me a while to learn proper bubble placement and timing, but it's satisfying doing strikes with randoms who get into that 'oh sh**' moment and then right when they need it, a bubble pops up a half step away. quote: "Who else could enjoy running around the map punching people in the mouth, barging them and kneeing them mid air?' I don't play PvP. but who could NOT enjoy being rolling thunder and crashing into enemies lke lightning? From the song, Steppin Razor - "I'm like a flash of lightning, I'm a rolling thunder, I'm dangerous' :D My favorite thing is when my hunter teammate who's methodically picking people off suddenly starts backing away as an axis minotaur blink-charges at him, and I come charging in and drop the boom and a few punches and down it goes. Being the bodyguard is tons of fun.

As a Titan. If you have a 360, I would be honored to fight alongside you. Without Titans the city wouldn't have Walls. Without Hunters we wouldn't know how to survive in the wild. Without Warlocks we wouldn't have been able to unlock some of the secrets of the Traveler.
-
As a Titan, I salute you. And give you a hug when nobody's looking. Got appearances to keep up, after all.
-
I have to agree. Totally biased though as I play Defender all the time lol
-
Pfft. But I'm that exceptionally funny hunter Dark! Gotta love a foul mouthed Texan! Plus running with you all make me want to be myself and joke around. Keep up the good words Dark, I hope folks listen. :) One day I'll be that Titan player you can count on... but not before I finish my warlock. XD

Edited by Voldaris: 11/7/2014 3:07:35 AMAs a titan on your friends list i will take this as a compliment. But i know ive never actually played with you. Hit me up if you need more for the raid.
-
Thank you sir. You brought me to tears.
-
Nicely said! I am a Titan defender player and my main reason for it is to help out my other teammates. I feel it is excellent and maybe the best class for PVE. I just love being able to give my fire team extra damage or a mini shield to help them out. And nothing is better than flying from the sky and dropping down your shield over your falling teammates and then reviving them. I feel that all of the classes are important but from the view of the Titan player a hunters blade dancer ability is so annoying. Some guy charging at you that can't even be stopped by a shotgun blast and a Titan punch. Point being to each other all of our classes may have the times when it's like "hey his power is so over powered" when in the end others may think that about you. I feel it's just best to accept that all powers can be annoying but having a mix of them is what makes the game interesting and fun to experience

Love my level 30 titan, only other character Id want to make would be a warlock
-
And then you took a blink strike to the knee From a Hunter
