Is Crota's End HM worth the hassle?
The Crux isn't dropping and The Word of Crota is only slightly better than Fatebringer. The other weapons, sparrow, ship and shader don't interest me.
What about you guys? Do you feel that its worth it right now to battle through a raid at level 32? Or will you wait for Bungie to raise our max light level first?
I'm only doing two raids right now. VoG HM and Crota Normal.
I have the materials to level my Warlock to 32 but I've been putting it off.

Honestly Dark not really, I try for the Crux but beyond that it's just damn tedious and a time sink.

It is nice to challenge yourself and your team. Take up the challenge and do it a few times then move on to doing other things. It is a hard part of the raid.

1 ReplyHard really isn't that hard if you find a quality sword bearer. The sword bearer is the MVP OF THE RAID FOR SURE. if you have that the raid all in all is actually pretty easy.

Just need the auto rifle I don't have and don't need the crux or sparrow. Hard really isn't too hard and you can get the pulse or auto rifle from completing the first part.

2 RepliesAs soon as I get the scout I'm done with hard. Don't really care about the crux. Got 2 husk and cba levelling them. Once I get every exotic weapon I'll consider trying to get necrochasm Can't believe you can't get normal drops on hard, what a joke

If you're going to do Crota Normal, you might as well do hard... sure normal is now only like 30 minutes and fun with friends... but hard isn't much harder (of course yesterday the DS was giving us problems not sure why, of course all but 2 of us decided to go in with 30 and 31 alts, that didn't help)... The Scout Rifle is good... the WoC is no fatebringer, but it hits hard and has a god RoF, The AR is serviceable and better than most other legendaries considering the solar damamge... And if you just want shards and energy for your weapons, might as well get double the loot... But I hear you... on normal it easier to get the group to let you run the sword if your not a hunter... randoms are phobic about that for some reason...

Fang is great. Auto is great. I got the crux. It's worth it until you have everything. I need the sparrow and the ship and I could care less about both aha

1 ReplyIf you think of crota hard mode as a "hassle" then I suggest you stay away from it. If you think of it as a challenge that you are willing to try and take on while having a few laughs with your fire team... Go for it. Peace

For me all I wanted was to beat crota so it's worth it for me If you are asking the forums if it's worth it I'd say its not for you.

At the end of the day, the purpose of running the raids is a matter of accomplishment and getting exotics.

9 RepliesI just finished levelling up the Word of Crota and isn't half bad. Since I got the WoC on my first HM clear and am still waiting for the Fatebringer, I can't really compare them, but it is a decent hand cannon and imho is a big step up from Aetheon's Epilogue as a void primary (never cared for it outside of void shield burning). The drop rates on Crota are higher, so if the raid doesn't turn your crank, I would just do it until I got everything I wanted. I still want the helmets for the Titan and Hunter, as well as the Black Hammer, Hunger of Crota and the scout rifle.

Honestly the weapons aren't that great. Unfortunately only the pulse rifle has dropped for me. Saying that my friends who have received other weapons aren't too thrilled with theirs either. Word of crota will always be compared to the fatebringer and it's certainly isn't a fatebringer. Guns are disappointing. It's fun to play with friends though.

I do it because it's not hard with my team and I like the guns plus your loot drops are better.

Do it just for a challenge and fun. If you really put it in a "worth" category I would say no. Because the best CE weapons are obtained through normal...Hunger of Crota and Black Hammer. Word of Crota and Fang of Ir Yut are good weapons but not the best. Of course people with WoC or Fang will probably say they're the best because it's more like a proud self prize obtained only through Crota HM. But the truth is that their perks are really not that great. WoC and Fang are just like Glowhoo makes you feel special among the ones that don't have it...typical. But go and have fun doing HM Crota. Do it for fun and for a challenge not for the rewards. Sparrow is same as Timebreaker just different color and the ship is same as the normal one just with little changes which is lame and lazy from Bungie. I do Crota just for fun at this point because the rewards are really not that great.

3 Repliesthe crux will drop, my buddy got it Tuesday night. after you get all the weapons, i would suggest running it for materials and better rolls on armor, including the helmet.
